There were 2 pie shops one near gate pub and the other near Travelers pub they sold tripe and chicklin and bag -

More likely if he was a trade man he would have come in contact with this terrible stuff the pipes were lagged with it Furnace bottoms were lined with it boilers were rapped in it -
