Begging on West Street/Division Street
Bollie replied to SNES's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I stopped giving cash to beggars when I read an article about a woman who regularly gave a young Indian beggar £5.00 on her way home from work everyday. He ended up following her, found out where she lived and made her life hell by constantly hanging around her house. I think she ended up selling her house and moving, if i remember rightly, she'd lived in the house for years with her husband who had died, poor lady. I can't find the article now but I do remember it scared me into never giving a penny ever again! -
A sham marriage? I just don't want a 'Big Do'. I also don't want to pick and choose witnesses that may upset other people that aren't 'chosen'.
-
Eh? Fraud?
-
Yeah, i thought that. Bit risky though. What if we don't find anyone?!!
-
Don't want a big wedding, thinking of just popping down to the Register Office one day and just doing it (after giving them notice of course) The're not allowed to provide witnesses though. Does anyone know of anywhere that does?
-
Ah thanks. That's really kind of you
-
Isn't it? lol

It's an Iphone 4S (apparently!). Really haven't got a clue about them...
-
I'm getting an old iphone on Friday but apparently they take really small sim cards. Obviously my current one is too big, but i'm sure I heard once that you can cut them down, or have them cut. Does anyone know anywhere that does this?

A hairdresser takes small sections of hair, puts a piece of foil underneath and paints a colour on, the folds the foil in half and sticks it together. The process is repeated until all the hair has been coloured and the whole head is covered in foils. Its a kind of modern way of using a bleaching cap.
-
I didn't ask for people's opinions at all, I asked who did kids rates for foils. I'm not going in blind, I have done research and will continue to do so until I make my mind up. Some salons have a minimum age of 12, others 14, others 16. It varies. And as for boundaries and rules... how the blinkin' heck would you know what boundaries and rules I put in place? Of course you can be both a friend and mother, its ridiculous to suggest otherwise!
-
She's come to me and asked for it doing, which I am considering. With all due respect, you've never met me, or my daughter for that matter so please don't judge me. There are a few girls in her year who have taken the cheap option and got a home bleach kit, which, needless to say, they've made a hash of it and it looks a right mess. If - IF I let her have it done, I would rather put her in the hands of a proffesional hairdresser. What's so wrong with being both a friend and mother?

Just phoned Veolia back. Apparently, they are 'operating the normal service. We are asking the binmen to work extra hours to clear the back-log' Ridiculous!! So in the meantime, while the people who aren't desperate for their bins to be emptied are enjoying a regular service, i've got rotting food and dirty nappies stacking up in the house!!
-
How? Not sure what to do with the rotting food and dirty nappies
-
What have you done with the overspill?
-
They were supposed to have been emptied last Wednesday. I've got rotting food and dirty nappies stacked in my kitchen, came home from work last night to find a fox round the bins so I daren't leave it outside. If the foxes are here, the rats can't be far behind. I've complained to Veolia who said someone will call me back in 1o minutes... and guess what? they haven't. Does anyone know if there is anywhere higher than Veolia to complain to?
-
Don't know if I dare do it myself. Then again £20... !!!

Just bought my daughter one of those Giffgaff sim cards, put it in the phone and it doesn't work! I think the phone is locked to Orange. Does anyone know how I can unlock it? And also, how much would it cost? I really have not got a clue about stuff like this so any advice welcome! Thanks all

Entire family now ill down to one boy's bad parenting
Bollie replied to Bollie's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Ok, maybe my daughter didn't catch this bug from this boy - I accept that, maybe they caught it from the same place, I don't know. As far as bad parenting goes... I stand by that. This boy should not be at school. Like I said, only 18 kids turned up one day. The other parents were responsible and kept their kids off. The mother or father of this poor boy should do the same. How anyone can say that sending him to school in his condition is the right thing to do is beyond me. Surely it's the same as a sickness bug where there is a 24 hour rule that children should stay away from school - sometimes 48 hours. ---------- Post added 03-12-2012 at 03:00 ---------- Additionally, I don't want to 'discuss' it on a public forum, far from it, I was and am simply asking for advice on weather or not to raise the issue with a teacher during an up-coming parent's evening. I don't want to get anyone into trouble, at the same time, lots of kids are missing school and this poorly boy is still being sent there... when other pupils are missing crucial school and lesson time...
