I still can't find an annual figure but I did manage to compare my statement to the same last year and it is indeed about 4/5 times lower and we're not doing anything differently. It's got to be something to do with that refund..

I've been thinking about this. Can you remember in my first post when I mentioned that Bulb had issued me a refund of £539? Do you think they will have had to generate £539 worth of energy in order to process a refund. A sort of 'fake' bill. Just a thought

I never even thought about my desktop PC. I regret giving my laptop to my son now.. I've also noticed that the microwave absolutely hammers the electricity.

It doesn't seem to want to give me a reading, it just says 'waiting'. It was only fitted yesterday so it will need one full day before giving an accurate reading. Don't worry about it though, and thank you for your help. I'll get back onto them on Monday to check that it's all ok.

Well, that's the thing. That statement was from August to September when the heating wasn't even on.

The last one was an actual reading, we now have a smart meter. Electric: 1477 kwh @ 26.311 Gas: 5065 kwh @ 6.935

That's what I thought. And there's only ever me and the dog at home during the day in pretty much one room.

I just thought it would be interesting. I was once on a default rate with British Gas and I overpaid for months until I spoke to someone else about their bill as they lived in a similar sized property to mine but paying far less.

Hi everyone, I thought it might be a good idea to compare our property sizes and the latest energy hike prices to reassure people that they are paying the going rate and on the best deal. I'll start. 4 bed semi. Our gas and electric monthly payment with Bulb has just gone up from £270 to £324. We were in credit by quite a lot (£930) but they said we couldn't use any of this against the increase. They have, however, just refunded me £539 of it, which I thought was fair enough. I also thought it would be a good idea to share other tips and information which might save us all a few quid here and there. Martin Lewis is worth a listen to on a Monday morning on GMB, he takes calls from viewers and answers questions that I never even thought of. There's also a decent group on Facebook where people are talking to each other about it all. Just a thought..

It feels like everyone has received their payment apart from me. I don't pay by direct debit but I thought the council would have made contact with me by now. Anyone else in the same boat?
