  6. Fisher Rd was renamed Newsham Rd abt 1917
  7. According to Peter Harvey's book Addy St was first named Addey St. It was built on land owned by two brothers, members of the Addey family from Cudworth who came to Sheffield in late 18th c, they were Tanners. Name was changed in 1915 by Watch Committee for unknown reason
  8. It is possible that the grave was a public one ie a grave that could not be afforded by the first buried. There are a lot of graves with lots of unrelated people in, Norton Cemetery Sect N Grave 37 there are 26 people buried in this grave all children. Smelter Ln, 2 Herries Rd and 12 Herries Rd were all linked to the Workhouse/Fir Vale Hospital I think.

  10. there is a Springfield rd at Millhouses. Starts at the junction of Abbeydale Rd and Archer Rd
  11. Tescos on Abbeydale Rd were allowed to buy land where the Hope Valley line was so unless they knock part of Tescos down 4 tracks are a no go
  12. There was a wage snatch at Tyzack Turner in 70/80 and the wages guard was found to be in it
  13. Bill and Maggie Stewart ran The Foresters Inn on Division St in late 60's
  14. They once played at Matthews Ln, Norton
