Hi, I have developed and deployed an app called "Park Up S1" on the Apple App store for the iPhone that displays details and locations of Blue Badge parking bays, car parks and bicycle parking within Sheffield city centre. The app also shows your location on the map using GPS and how far away you are from the parking bays. The app is free to download as i have no interest in making money from it. This was just a little project i took on which i thought was useful while i was learning to develop apps. If your looking for certificates then have you tried looking at short term courses at the universities? If you just want to learn the language then i suggest getting a decent book from amazon and teaching yourself. Both are not difficult languages to grasp.
