  1. Hello everyone, I have just heard some sad news about an old friend of mine Haydn Boyes Weston who passed away in 2014. He was the drummer with 2.3, Cabaret Voltaire and many other Sheffield bands. RIP Haydn
  2. Hello Downsunder, It could be worse. You could be over 50 and out of work still stuck in Sheffield!!!! Cheers
  3. I used to see Roger when he visited The Attic sandwich shop in town when it was owned by the Mortons. He had the place in uproar with some of his antics. In the 70's my mate had a room in the same house as Roger and Roger made the mistake of saying on air that he hated the song titled 'Black Betty' by Ram Jam, so my mate rigged his Dansette record player to play Black Betty all night and it drove Roger crazy!!!! R.I.P. Rog
  4. I 'sold' a car there in 1971. It was a 1959 Chevrolet Impala. When I went to collect the money on the following Monday Old Ernie dressed in his sheepskin jacket informed me that he was having trouble getting the cash from the buyer and I was to come back tomorrow. This I did, and on several more occasions but to no avail. Then a friend of mine told me he had seen my car hidden round the back with a 'for sale' sign on it. After a great deal of hassle Ernie reluctantly gave me my keys back and I repossessed my car. I then sold it myself to a chap from Chesterfield. Good old Ernie!! Ahh Happy Days
  5. Hi, You are correct The photograph is of the main entrance to the school. I left Rowlinson in 1970. I had to go back to the school last month to do some agency work and could not believe that I was working in a room that 40+ years earlier I was in there doing Technical Drawing. The classroom was on the first floor at the back towards the gym. I also went into the gym which was exactly as I remember, playing Pirates with Paddy Ireland. Happy Days
  6. I used to go skating on a friday night (too young for a scooter) but I remember some of the fights outside with bike chains etc. Does anyone remember a Greaser who I think was called Eskimo. Great days!
