Great lap dog loves being with you and sitting on your lap. Excellent with children, even very young children. He is house trained but can be lazy so you have to make sure you tell him to go outside. He is used to an enclosed garden and enjoys walks but doesn't need lots of long walks. He gets excited when you meet/greet him and tiddles a bit sometimes. But he is a very happy sociable dog. The only problem is that he doesn't like being left alone hence the reason for rehoming. He is ok for short periods but gets distressed for anything longer than a couple of hours. So would make someone a great companion. We are currently fostering this dog. But our Female Basset is not accepting the dog very well. We therefore need to find him a home asap. Please get in touch if you think you can offer him a forever home.

  8. I would definately give one a try. My Yorkshire Terrier, who we sadly lost to cancer a couple of years ago, suffered with terrible arthritis from the age of 4 we tried everything and had numerous visits to the vets, he had pills, injections, the lot but was getting worse and worse until he could barely walk. The vet was talking about putting him to sleep and as a last resort I trawled the internet trying to find a last hope. When I found a site about magnatherpy collars. I sent for one and it wasn't an overnight cure but over the next three months he made a noticeable improvement. 6 months later he was better still and 12 months later you wouldn't have known it was the same dog. He continued wearing one for the rest of his life and I firmly believe the collar worked for him. I have recommended to other people but I think they expect it to work overnight so give up before they have chance to work. But I would say give it a try!

  11. Hi can anyone help please. I am buying a vehicle which has previously been on disabled tax. I know that I cannot tax it at the post office but have been told that I have to go to the tax office where it was registered for disabled tax. Is this true or can I just go to the car tax office in Sheffield and get it transfered to normal car tax? Thanks you

  17. Thanks everyone for your comments. We are taking the dogs to the vets tomorrow, the little one seems ok. But the older one has several puncture wounds which might get infected. They are both very quiet at the moment and this has obviously shook them up. It could have been a lot worse. I don't know what I would have done in the same situation, but obviously my husband reacted in the only way he could in trying to get this animal off our dogs. I am just so angry. I'm going down to Moss Way tomorrow with my husband to make a report of the incident. It may turn out that they know of this dog anyway. In the mean time I am trying to track down the owner of this dog for everyones safety.
  18. swordfish1 - This animal was not on a lead and was with a yound lad who could obviously not control it. At the very least it should have been on a lead and with a responsible adult who could control it. I have no sympathy for anyone who owns a dog like this. I am only grateful that my children weren't there at the time because I dread to think what might have happened. The fact that the owner made a quick escape just makes you think that it's not the first time it's happened and it probably won't be the last!
  19. At about 1 o'clock today whilst my husband was out walking our 2 Yorkshire Terrier dogs on Frechville playing fields, a black and white Husky type dog attacked our dogs. The dog was off lead and was with a young lad of about 14. My husband says the dog came at them and completely ignored the lads attempts at calling it away. It clamped it's jaws around our 12 year old Yorkshire Terriers upper back and ragged him all over. The yound lad was apparently in tears and kept apologizing! My husband tried repeatedly to boot the dog off our dog, eventually it let go and got old of our 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier at which point a bloke turned up and called the dog off. My husband at this point was attending to our older dog who was having a fit. The bloke, yound lad and dog had all disappeared by the time my husband attended to our dogs. Our dogs seem ok at the moment the little one fortunately seems to have suffered no physical injuries. Although he is a very nervous dog anyway (we rescued him from the RSPCA), so god only knows what sort of affect this will have on him. Our older dog has puncture wounds on his back and this has obviously frightened him to the point of having a fit. At the moment his seems ok, but I am absolutely furious that this dangerous dog is still out there. It is only a matter of time before it claims it's next victim. It could be a child next time. Does anyone know of a dog like this in the S12 area ?
  20. It's for a Rover 600 so it is quite big, I think..... but I haven't got another one to compare it to.
  21. I've just bought a secondhand towbar for my car and I need someone to fit it and wire it up. Can anyone help me? Or do you know somebody who can? Please pm me. Thank you:help:

  23. I took my children down to Don Valley on Saturday morning for the children's athletics club. My 10 year old has been wanting to go for ages because she loves running. I asked my 6 year old boy if he would like to go aswell and suprisingly he seamed quite excited. He's not into football at all and I'm always a little worried that he's missing out, because all the other boys his age at school all go to football training at least once a week. Anyway we arrived at 9.30am and the nice young lady on reception advised us where to go and informed us that the first time was free. After all the newcomers had completed our registration forms the children were taken out to the track. Parents are allowed to watch so I took a seat in the stand. To warm up they were told to run a lap of the track. My daughter set off with her usual determined confident attitude, my little boy who had been sauntering along at the back of the group was taken completely unawares and was left running at the back, some way behind the others. I immediately thought 'Oh no, he can't run that far' and 'He's so far behind he will give up and get upset'. How wrong can you be! He kept on running and eventually caught up with the others half way round the track and carried on running until he had completed his lap. His face was a picture beaming from ear to ear. Which I'm glad to say stopped there all morning. They did lots of warming up, running, long jump and javelin and had a lovely game of dodge ball to finish off. They both had a great time, burned off loads of energy and can't wait to go back next week. I thought other people might be interested in hearing about this club because apparently they had been thinking about cancelling it due to low numbers.
  24. Thanks I'll try them. EIS looks great Chris. Didn't even know it was there!
  25. My daughter is 11 years old and very athletic. She would love to be more involved in athletics, particularly running. We have approached her school but after making all the right noises they have done nothing about it. I have heard of other schools actively encouraging talented youngsters, with children being involved in runing for their school and county. How can my daughters needs be met. Does anyone know of any clubs she could join. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
