  1. Hi LucidEats - haven't been on Sheff Forum for ages - just saw your post re. collaboration. Did you get anywhere with any responses? I've been using Reason, Live, Bitwig, Falcon for about 20 years - creating 57 'albums' to date and doing nothing with them except listening to them myself. I think collaboration between producers is a good idea but I have no idea how it might work. (Autechre apparently just send each other ideas and they mangle them up). My stuff is sometimes dubstep-glitch, sometimes ambient-beat. Shall I send some bits over? Cheers Pete (I'm into Lusine, Boxcutter, Fourtet, Clark...)
  2. We're looking for a guitarist or keyboard player to join bass & drums for a monthly space rock jam. Fun attitude more important than technical ability. Sort of Hawkwind - Steve Hillage - Anekdoten noise and fun followed by beer at the Greystones. Relaxed atmos and recording space available. If interested I could send some recent recordings. Pete
  3. Hi Rach - I play drums/keyboards with a few mates (guitars/keyboards) writng/recording songs in my small cellar studio in Greystones S11. The style is hard to pin down but its not covers - sort of a blend of synth rock / dance. We think a vocal could fit in well. Re transport - it maybe that you are close? Are you far from the Greystones pub - we could meet up for a chat. Pete Hill
  4. Hi Bassis Ace and Norbert - I'm a drummer (mid 60's - not grown up at all) - I've got a practice room in S11 (my cellar) if you'd like to come along for a jam and see if it clicks. Or meet up at the Greystones for a pint first? Pete
  5. Hi Brett - I'm an experienced drummer with plenty of time on my hands. I'd be interested in some session work. Pete Hill tel: 2685956 e: [email protected]
  6. Hi LucidEats - I've been making 'computer music for about twenty years - using mostly Reason & Live - I tend to collect my 'songs' together and burn them to a CD and call them 'albums' of which I've done 41 now.! They are mostly relaxing, not very good, twiddling but sometimes I sound a bit like Aphex twin / Lusine / Autechre / Clarke / Fourtet (I wish). I'm actually not a bad drummer and play in a couple of bands which are just beginning to start up again after the shutdown. Oddy drum programming is not one of my strengths - maybe I'm better at accidents that designing things. I put some stuff on soundcloud a few years ago - Anyway it was nice to read your post about collaboration. I've no idea how it would work, dont know what I want or could offer except a bit of enthusiasm - but maybe a collab could at leat be a bit of fun and like most skills would improve with time / effort. Get in touch if any of this sounds interesting. Cheers. Pete
  7. Hiya - well I'm an experienced drummer - with quality Roland kits - into electronica (Nerve & Clarke/Fourtet/Deadmau5 etc) - not sure about playing to backing tracks - plenty of spare time (I'm retired) - in a band that doesn't keep me busy enough (especially in winter when i cant get out climbing so much) BUT I'm old and unlikely to go on european tours. However I am creative and capable - kits are set up in my cellar studio in S11. I may be able to help out / collaborate / record stuff - come over for a play sometime. Be nice to play with like minded people. Pete 0114 2685956.
  8. Russell - just spoke to Steve the bass pleyer above - will arrange for a meet in new year - I also know a guitarist who may be interested - getting closer. Cheers Pete
  9. Anybody want to start a Genesis (or Van Der Graff Generator, Cream etc) tribute group? I'm a drummer, got a small rehearsal space in S11 .
  10. Hi. We're a three peice casual space rock art noise band playing for fun and occassional gigs - we'd love to have someone like PETER SINFIELD involved - writing lyrics and speaking/singing them with our synthey space rock. Current band name is Warpfish from Sector Nine (I think) just to give you a flavour of the seriousness of the project. Performing poet, vocalist or keen starter if you can get into Invasion of the Cosmic Goldfish give us a shout.
  11. Hi - I'm a decent drummer (young 60) funky/rocky playing with a keyboard/synth player trying to write our own stuff (bit Nerve-ish). Playing on a Roland kit in my cellar-studio in S11. fancy a jam? Pete 2685956
  12. sounds good - please send e mail & I'll send songs -if you're still interested we'll arrange meet. Cheers Pete
  13. Hi - we're a three piece (bass, drum, synth) self indulgent band, writing our own tunes along a sort of ambient/Nerve feel, two of us are retired one wishes he could. We're looking for another musician (guitar, keyboard, vocal, other?) to add to our sound, have fun etc. We meet once or twice a week in our S11 practice room - putting a CD together at the moment, dont rule out gigs but not sure the average audience would want to hear us (we are actually amazingly good!). Technical know how less important than ability to work with others and enjoy palying. If interested I'll send some songs over. Pete
  14. Anybody got a practice room (Stagg?) they want to sublet one evening per week to a mature band meeting regularly- big enough to leave drum kit and a few amps?
  15. I'm a drummer / percussionist into something experimental (To Rococo Rot, Fond of Tigers, **** Buttons, Holy **** etc). Got a little practice room in S11. Keen to play-experiment-record.
