From the 1891 census we have found out mother in laws mother was a landlady re-siding at 25 Pinestone st. Looking in the book " A Pub on Every Corner" we assume the pub must have been the "London House", which was demolished in 1898 to make way for the town hall.
Anyone out there with any more info about this pub, or better still any prints or photo's of it maybe ?

Mother in-law keeps going on about working for a company called Nobby Halls' during the war. The factory was located roughly where Staples car park is at the bottom of the Moor.
Anyone have any info on this company, like what they did as her memory is going?

They were an outfitters next door to Bethel Chapel. Look on Picture Sheffield under "Lawsons", there's a good picture taken in 1960's.Â
Thankyou... I will report this back to mother in law.

Walking up Cambridge st, past the old toy/sports shop that used to belong to John Lewis's, I noticed that above the windows on either side of the entrance the old mounting points for the letters that spell out "LAWSONS".
Anyone out any idea of who Lawsons were?
I have asked my mother in law who is 89 and has lived in Sheffield all her life and she doesn't remember who or what Lawsons did.

I've been reading an old motorcycle magazine and noticed the BSA dealer in Sheffield was Walter wragg ltd , Stanley works on Wellington st.
I was wondering if someone might know where on Wellington street it was or better still if there are any pictures of it out there..
