  1. Suggest you go about it in a more organised way than individual emails sent en masse because what could happen is that they'll say is that your's is the only complaint they've received blah blah bblah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ... Therefore we trust you understand that it would be inappropriate use of Council resources. blah blah blah blah
  2. need someone who's a dab hand with a soldering iron to repair the circuit board of my fax machine. It's only two wires that need reconnecting and it's an extremely small circuit board but without which the darn thing wont work. Lost without it. Can anyone help me out. Very gratefully Wendy
  3. I feel very deeply for you and I'm very sorry to say this is quite a common experience for all types of disabilities. For myself I suffer with a disabling voice loss and am in receipt of all kinds of abuse from organisations with disability policies in place and staff supposedly trained to take an empathetic approach to disability proudly published on their websites and which is nothing but mythical nonsense. One of the best things to have come out of my disability for me was to learn from it in particular to be more assertive, confident and self-assured. I am therefore very glad you turned round to those people in the way you did. Perhaps it will make them think. I also think that perhaps something that you could do for yourself might be to find ways of confronting these people who upset you in a manner that allows you to say what you need to say to such people and so that you feel good about yourself in the process.
  4. Hi metalman, Please empty your inbox. cant send a reply. thanks wendy
  5. That's the most fantastic analysis of "cool" that I've come across and even made me smile when I dont have that much to smile about
  6. What goes on a gravestone and is there some kind of ceremony for it?
  7. Although I've never been to Nonna's it always seems extremely busy, most particularly on a Sunday, so if that's you're intended caff, I strongly recommend booking.
  8. You could probably get it in either Manchester, Leeds or London but with this link I'm sure it could be sorted out quite easily online and as they've got a phone number you could call them up and I'm sure the post/packing would be cheaper than time/travel to Manchester/Leeds or even London.
  9. Mod Note: ALL walks are unofficial - please refer to Forum Meeting Policy
  10. I'd be very interested in meeting up in a non-pub type of venue so wonder whether you have any other suggestions for such a meeting. In my case it would also need to be fairly quiet because I've got a voice loss condition and cant compete with the noise usually found in pubs. Also cant do this week due to having been visited by central heating engineers due to the extremely urgent replacement of my central heating & hot water system.
  11. Innovative in the sense of being able to make extremely good use of very restricted space.
  12. Here's a link for Companies House charges http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk//toolsToHelp/productPriceList.shtml
  13. I'm urgently looking for an innovative kitchen/bathroom planner in Sheffield and would appreciate any recommended links. Thanks wendy
  14. Try companies house; they also charge but I think considerably less than other service providers. You could go in to one of their Information Centres where they used to charge a £1 to look up and print out Director details from their databases. There's an Information Centre in London, Cardiff, Scotland and somewhere else but cant remember where it is but you could try googling COmpanies House for the link
  15. For all those who've had the foresight to take a camera on their walk, it would be really nice if we could have the links in this thread as well as in the relevant walking thread. Thanks wendy
  16. perhaps we should start a SF walkers Photo thread because they all look really fantastic and it would be nice if they're all in one place.
  17. Try PMing depoix; I think he used to work for the CAB and may have some knowledge on this.
  18. can you go back to your source and obtain a bit more info from them. A middle name or initial would definitely be invaluable It's very hard work tracing missing relatives so keep persisting and you'll eventually get there.
  19. I think you'd better read this link http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=55893 before going with Tesco's insurance. However, I'm not surprised to learn of the unsatisfactory performance of their solicitor either.
  20. Simply taking a black cab in the streets is NOT a guarantee of safety. Unless you take their Registration License Number, car number etc the fact that they have driven you anywhere is also NOT traceable. In a very considerably less serious incident, I had a black cab take me to the Royal Hallamshire earlier this year. I gave them £10 to pay a fare of less than £5 and received change for a fiver but owing to my panicked state at the time, didnt realise I'd been short-changed by over £5 until I got to the ward I was visiting. I phoned RCA who were not able to trace the cab and with a very substantial Asian population of mini-cab drivers I've had to write it off. The moral of the story is that it can not be assumed that just because it is a black cab that they are trustworthy.
  21. Well apart from all the money you'll save, it could even save your life by not smoking. Lung cancer is an incurable disease with all that they're doing being a damage limitation exercise as to how long they, ie the specialists can extend you're life.
  22. This thread has been done before.
  23. Under no circumstances would I even contemplate this; I recall hearing it leads to all kinds of problems for the person initiating this activity.
