  1. Yes but it's a personal preference. Some customers chat some don't so it's difficult to guage. Experience in the job gives you a kind of sense as to whether the person is friendly or not. ---------- Post added 19-04-2013 at 11:22 ---------- ....and with all respect Pete, you're not and never were averse to posting off topic.
  2. I'm always too busy on the mobile to care about the staff
  3. I'll go along with Bonzo. Certainly lately the food quality has dipped. The fruit has always been lame but it's spreading to other products now. Sorry what was (were) the question(s)?
  4. I read somewhere that artics' and the like are being fitted with mirrors that are designed to make spotting cyclists a whole lot easier so hopefully the accident rate will drop drastically. As for the lights, it's a pity that a minority of motorists aren't as considerate when they keep their lights on high beam even though cyclists and pedestrians moving towards them are struggling to see. You're not all saints yet it appears that the only people allowed to use roads these days are the ones surrounded by a few thousand pounds of metal.
  5. Yep and there's a good chance those words would have turned up here
  6. I'm not sure whether I should laugh at you or take pity because so much of what you're saying here is kinda' daft. I look at it this way. Driving a motor vehicle is a privilege that can be taken away if that privilege is abused and in many cases it clearly should be.
  7. They pay a road excise for any car they might be using but that wont have any bearing on your lunacy will it.
  8. You can't have statements like 'will have to abide by laws' in the same paragraph as jumping a red light yourself surely. There's either abiding by them or taking a chance that you won't get caught. You were caught which means you were fine with breaking the law in the first place
  9. @alchresearch Our culture isn't so vastly different from Canada or Australia is it other than being more negative in most aspects of life and until it's tried who's to say it'll work or not. New radical ideas are always met with trepidation and opposition. The link you attached was interesting and if a similar pattern is followed there's every reason to believe that similar results can be obtained here. I'm referring to the BBC link in this instance
  10. Yet the evidence shows that the idea is having positive results in countries that have already adopted the idea.
  11. A blinkered reaction if ever there was one. You obviously credit them with no hope of redemption.
  12. This is a snippet from a much lengthier piece about the water intake of your feline friends. Under normal conditions, by ingesting a diet high in moisture, cats can almost completely meet their water requirements and do not need to drink extra water. If you fed a dry diet you would witness the cat drinking more regularly. Yours sounds happy and helathy.
  13. Stick a 'Learn Spanish' cd in your player that way you can educate yourself along the route.
  14. It would appear to have a degree of success behind the idea. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/britains-first-drug-shooting-galleries-hailed-a-success-758729.html
  15. People seem to be working harder in making a point to get it wrong. One of our number takes his rubbish to a supermarket in Stocksbridge, another puts it in the car and drives it to the city dump. Some are even willing to pay twice to clear their rubbish. This is not the behaviour of sensible, rational humans.
  16. Is there a safe time? Most drivers are already edging forward as your light is changing to red so it seems a bit of a risky occupation. For the record (again) I don't mind what cyclists do, they don't bug me at all.
  17. Oh I do, my hand will stand testimony to that, twice.
  18. Who thinks of this stuff originally, it's just so out there as a remedy!
  19. Brighton was the first place to have a stretch of its beach set aside for nude bathing as well. Obviously they're not afraid to try something new or controversial.
  20. Sorry had visions of you being one of the Borrowers or perhaps one of the Shire folk to receive so much damage from such a teeny dog.
