Oh that yeah I get that but it's owner responsibility to ensure their dogs are safe and secure as we so often read and if any Tom, Dick or Harry can lift the latch on the gate and open it whether innocently or deliberately then the garden isn't secure regardless of you being there or not. A mischevous kid could walk along and open the gate couldn't it. The bolt on our gate is situated on the inside well beyond the reach of children and even adults will have a problem opening it

Although to be honest nothing happened so he's getting blamed for......?
-
The oness is on the parents to trust their kids isn't it, esteem an all that.

Postman have a habit of reading the mail as they open gates i've noticed that so perhaps he never saw them. Myself if I was that worried about dogs i'd automatically close the bloody gate to hopefully prevent them getting to me but fear has a funny way of making you react irrationally so who knows. Having said that i'm pretty sure if this was a newspaper article the owner would be irresponsible for not having a spring on the gate.

Sorry, it wasn't that clear. -

So some southerners are pig ignorant then not all. -
I'm confused now. On this thread it's ok to have dogs in a garden yet on another it's irresponsible.

So before the advent of tagging becoming law were responsible dog owners non existent? -

Makes no odds. You still have no right to assume that the Southerners are pig ignorant based on your experience. I've worked in Sheffield and experienced hostilities, am I to assume the same? -
I suppose there was no reason to suspect him. If his own family were unaware how the hell is anyone else going to have a clue?

We don't know that, that is the case though do we. It may be that a six foot fence surrounded the garden. Even in the garden with ours i'd be hard pressed to get from one end to the other to stop them if one of them decided to scale the fence surrounding it. -

You're a bit harsh on a lady whose cared for the dog for six years. -

I feel sure there's some irony there somewhere. -

He took a stab in the dark as you did with your suggestion of a lack of community spirit in the South. -
Come on PT. Pugs are A' list dogs at present. What do you think the answer to your last question is!

Already signed but I have doubts as to it doing any good. The NFU are arses and government salivate at the prospect of kissing them.
-
Do both. If you want to overtake you need to make sure its safe to do so don't you and that means looking in both directions. Presumably you've already checked that they way ahead is clear so that just leaves what's coming up in your rear view mirror.
-
Yes I know but regardless of that. If you use your mirrors correctly in conjunction with the manouevre you'll avoid those situations of bikes coming from seemingly nowhere.
-
Then you obviously need to look again don't you, bikes come from somewhere not nowhere.
-
Ignore them, it's a heavy bias against.

Have you enjoyed the beautiful weather today ?
Murphy Jnr replied to shaznay's topic in General Discussions
Enjoyed the first half of the day just hanging around the house and garden, had to work the second half and even missed the evening sunshine, but, what I had was very nice. -
Mrs Patching is right. There are any number of causes even a reaction to the medication so seeking a second opinion outside of your normal clinic could provide the answer you need, hopefully this will be the case. Hope it goes well.
