Did anyone else see the meteor shower tonight over s5 at around 6pm? One left a huge plume of smoke in the sky that i thought was a funnle cloud at first glance until we saw the flaming ball of fire coming over the hill. We missed getting a photo of the actual meteor (it travelled at emense speed) but did manage to get one of the cloud it left behind

I work in pharmacy, it's a neccessity to ask people to confirm their name and address.... would hate to think joe bloggs of 35 sunshine street got joe bloggs of 35 rainy streets methadone :-/ if you dont want other people in the shop knowing your address then carry it around on a piece of paper in your pocket and just show that when your asked..... that's what some of our customers do anyway. Sometimes it just can't be helped

I once entered into a tenancy with myself a flat mate and my partner.... the tenency stated no one on benefits, which at the time we were all working. After 6 months of the 12 month contract my flat mate became pregnant and had to move out due to lack of space, 9 months into the contract i came home to find my partner bedding another woman obviously i booted him out leaving me as a single parent in a big house to fend for myself. I had no option but to claim benefits for the duration of my tenency, i never got into arrears or caused a problem. I eventually left the house giving the required notice (although i actually moved out 1 month before and still paid that months rent) i left it clean and tidy and got back my bond. don't tar everyone with the same brush they may not be on benefits now but doesn't mean they never will be

Very simlar experience tonight!!! Ordered a platter for starters it arrived and was black, left it and waited for the waitress to return and we complained about it she apologised and we went on to say ok as long as you make sure the rest of the food doesnt arrive in the same state. My partner ordered a steak... medium, when that arrived it was like chewing a tyre and burnt, we complained about this too and asked the waitress to take it back to show the chef where she never returned! We decided to leave and as we walked past the kitchen the staff were loud and using foul language. When i got home i decided to phone and ask to speak to management where she offered us a refund for only the steak and not the whole meal that if we wanted we had to go and collect and within the next hour or we wouldnt be getting a refund!!!!!!

Relief really could have been a far worse outcome. This story prompted me to ask my 6 yr old who he would call if mummy was ill his response "i'd go to nannans"..... she lives about 5 miles away so not only would my child be walking the streets alone and across a main roads i would be dead by the time he got there!!!!!!! Some things are to be learnt from stories like this.... my child has now been educated that 999 needs to be called first and not nannan lol

The operator should have asked the girl to call 999 from the house phone (if they had one) least that could be traced back to the house and would eliminate anyone in the yellow pages if not!

Cant say i should have a license to have children. I was pregnant at 16 so what? My son is loved, has a loving family, i don't have a council house and never have, we both work to pay for him he is always clean and clothed. Please explain why i should have a license for him?

thanks for your replies no we were not married but he has disappeared off the face of the earth avoiding debt collectors no forwarding address or telephone number. He has nothing to do with my son or his other son from a previous relationship but i still keep in contact with his other son, after all i brought him up. I was told i would have to apply to the courts for permission from his father but like (FairyNormal) totally impossible with no address. Oh well looks like im going tohave to get a solicitor for some advive

Does anyone know the rights i have of changing my sons surname? Me and his dad are no longer together he's had every oppertunity to see his son but decided he doesn't want to. He has paid nothing towards maintanence in the past two years (I haven't even bothered to ask) and my son hasn't recieved a birthday or christmas card either.
