  1. hence the three little words "in common usage" - it is the only one of the three suggested so far that I have ever used, or heard used, and you don't get much more common than me
  2. I've never understood the posts that answer a question that hasn't been asked just so someone can make a point Can anyone recommend a psychic? Psychics are frauds! Thanks but you're mistaking me for someone who cares about your opinion If you can't recommend one why not just say no - or better still just don't post If the question was, what do you think of psychics your answer would be relevant but it wasn't and it isn't But don't mind me I'm just passing the time till my cup of tea arrives - hopefully with a couple of custard creams on the side
  3. Facetious is the only word in common usage in the English language which contains every vowel in the same order as it appears in the alphabet
  4. two carrots and a packet of hula hoops
  5. Banker's Draft used to be okay upstairs but dodgy downstairs - although it is about 10 years since I went in
  6. You don't half read a load of tripe on here some days The seeds for the men's singles at Wimbledon are selected using a system agreed with the ATP in 2002 - it is based on the player's world ranking then weighted according to their performances in grass court tournaments in the last 12 months - it can't be fixed to give someone a perceived easier ride - it is always the way that the number four seed is seeded to meet the number one seed in the semi final and the two and three seeds are in the other half of the draw As to the fact that Murray hasn't won a Grand Slam title yet - since the beginning of 2004 there have been 35 Grand Slams - 32 of them have been won by Nadal (11), Federer (16) or Djokovic (5) Each of Nadal, Federer and Djokovic won their first Grand Slam against an opponent who hadn't (and still hasn't) won a Grand Slam - Murray's misfortune is that, in each of the Grand Slam Finals he's been in he's been up against a Grand Slam winner However, I think in terms of consistently being able to perform at his best, Murray probably isn't as good as the top three
  7. Oddly, I don't mind that! It is a bit annoying though when she says "I'm looking for a new pair of trousers", but we spend most of our time looking at skirts, blouses, jumpers, t shirts, handbags before moving on to the trousers I always think she got me there under false pretences - if she'd said she wanted to look at every women's clothing department in every shop I'd have happily waited for her in the benjamin huntsman or the museum
  8. It'd have to include Vanessa Feltz, Gillian McKeith, Christine Hamilton
  9. "What did he say?" " I don't know because you were telling me what Shirley said to Paula about what her boyfriend said to Steve's wife. If you want to watch it, shut up" "There's no need to be grumpy."
  10. Talking through the occasional film or TV programme I get to watch and shutting up when the adverts come on, but complaining when I make the odd comment when she's watching Corodalenders
  11. Our office hours are 9.00-5.30 with an (unpaid) hour for lunch - finish at 5.00 on Fridays (i.e. a 37 hour week) Not sure how many work all that time though, what with coffee breaks, fag breaks, toilet trips, and essential computer maintenance (facebook, twitter etc)
  12. I went at the end of April a couple of years ago and it was pleasantly warm - not sunbathing weather but warm enough during the day for T shirt & shorts - bit cooler in the evenings - depends how nesh you are!
  13. It doesn't stop it feeling like a defeat though!
