Cars parked on Fulwood Road near the Bull's Head
aussieboy replied to ADC_28's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I suspect so from the rather awful N6 ACL registration plate on a rather nice silver porsche that's there a lot... guessing he's an orthopod who does a lot of private anterior cruciate ligament work or something. Whilst sat in the Bull's beer garden, I've only seen inspectors once. On this occasion, they finally ticketed the person with the Z3 from a local shop who regularly parks for hours in the one hour only bay. Given that they were as guilty as sin of parking illegally, but had finally been caught, I was somewhat surprised to overhear them stridently upbraiding the city council on their mobile on how they had been unfairly ticketed. Nice to see people conforming to the high-handed beemer driver stereotype. -
Broomhill Friery - what's happened in 8 weeks?

Isn't the Ranmoor friery owned by the same people? Their chips have been a been sub par recently too... perhaps it's a potato thing. -

Doing up property before completion
aussieboy replied to bananapie's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but this isn't true. In the transaction, the interest accrues to the vendor not to the solicitor - just check your instruction contract to make sure that this is an opt out not an opt in clause. This scam was addressed some years ago. -
Frame Ups are excellent. They replaced all my windows and were reliable, pleasant and did a very good job on time etc. They do wood and PVC.

Is this the right or wrong time to buy a house?
aussieboy replied to steelblade's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
How did the Chancellor raid your private pension? Just curious... -
What a nice, helpful thread - what the forum is all about! Can't add much myself, just that I'm sure you will enjoy living in Crookes and that the Information Commons will indeed be very large. All the best.

Two threads on this, Jimmy... don't you get enough of this on HPC.co.uk? I can do without carry trade, M4 money supply and similar discussions on two forums at once. I come here to get a break from all that! However, it's certainly a legitimate discussion and one that is covered in mind-bleeding detail over at http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk (for those that are interested there are some Sheffield threads on there too). PS Interesting to see the "it's different this time" tone of your last paragraph: does that mean that you're a HPC bull -

Washing and drying cloth nappies uses up more resources than using Molten biodegradables. -

Cut them out of the process and give viewers your contact details. Ask them to keep you in the loop with any offers or requests for further viewings. You'll be doing their job for them, but what other option do you have..? -

US family moving to Sheffield area
aussieboy replied to Shanmom's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
If hubby has to head to the airport, if you're looking for decent schools, if you want proximity to countryside and if the area has to have a decent rental stock, and if you have the budget then perhaps Ranmoor / Fulwood might do the trick. I'm not sure Dore has so many rental properties and you'd have to cross the entire city (I think) to get to the airport. From my experience, there's less of a community feel in S17 cf S10 (that's only my experience so please no offence to those civic minded residents of S17!). I would avoid living to centrally, mind.
