  1. Hello, It's my parents' Ruby Wedding Anniversary soon, we are taking them out for a family meal and thought it would be a nice touch if they were picked up in vintage car, maybe with a drive past the place where they got married and drop them off at the place where we are due to have a meal. It would probably be a half an hour trip at the most. Is anyone here (or know of anyone) that would be interested in this little job (obviously for a fee)? This will be on Saturday 20th September, with a pick up time of about 6.30 from the Chapeltown area, and drop off at 7pm. Thanks for reading.
  2. Hello Gardeners, My plea is not as sinister as it sounds. In the back garden we have a sizeable planter/raised bed. The problem is that it is in an area of the garden that never gets sunshone, whatever the time of year. It stands 5 courses of bricks above the garden level, is just over 18 feet long and 20 inches wide and runs along the neighbours tatty looking fence. I would like to plant an array of plants and flowers, with Evergreens, and things that will add colour all year round. With some taller ones at the back to somewhat hide the tatty fence. I found a wedsite of shade loving plants - the list was HUGE. I am pretty clueless with these things, and have no idea what would go together and what would look best. So, I wondered if anyone with green fingered vision might be able make any suggestions. Given time and cost constraints, I will probably have to spread the project over the year, rather than doing it all in one go. The other question I have is where is best place to get these sort of plant/flowers in the Sheffield/Barnsely area. Or is the internet a good place to shop? Thanks is advance to anyone who can offer some help. Cheers Chap.
  3. Hi All, I have mushrooms or toadstool growing in both front and back gardens. The back garden was only turfed this summer. Although I'm not very 'green fingered', I do know these can be harmful, and with kids and animals around, I'd like to get rid of them, and stop them coming back again. Does anybody have any suggestions on the best ways of eradicating these? Thanks.
  4. Evening All, Mrs Chap and I are contemplating going to the Isle of Wight for our family holiday next year. We have 2 girls who will be aged 5 and 2 next summer. Can anyone recommend any locations to stay? We would probably lean towards being on the coast, but also enjoy peaceful rural settings. We plan on going the week aftern Cowes Week. Thanks Chap
  5. Was in there last Sunday - Don't remember much about it though!!!
  6. I've had Lobster at Loch Fynne but that was in Bluewater, Kent which was pretty good. Not been to the Sheffield one yet as we have only just moved back home - some comments here suggest I shouldn't get too excited though which is a shame.
  7. Thirded - Spa was great (so says the Mrs!!), and food in the Champagne bar was fantastic. Booked one of the better rooms with a view over Peace Gardens through Last Minute.com for a pretty good rate.
  8. Not sure it has been mentioned so far (apologies if it has), but The Commercial in Chapeltown has a good range of real ales. They have a different selection pretty much everytime I drop in for one.
