  1. I'm originally from north wales, I've been in Sheffield for the last 15 years. Gotta say, I love the stuff.
  2. Hi, Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I could only find a classic car section. Hoping someone can help. I am working on a Yamaha XJ750 that stopped running. Its not sparking on plugs 1&4, but plugs 2&3 spark fine. My question is, is the ignition coil that run 1&4 the same type as 2&3? The reason I ask, is that I plan to switch the coils round, so if 1&4 then spark and 2&3 dont then it means its a faulty igntion coil, am I right in thinking this? Thanks in advance
  3. Can you not go in go in to the BIOS, set the clock and stuff, click save and exit and it should boot. You dont have to power off and on so that should work. Its what I do when my battery goes and I CBA to replace it
  4. Star Wars The Old Republic minimum memory is 1GB of RAM, its 4GB Recommended Requirements. Most if not all games will run fine with the 3GB of memory you have got.
  5. I dont think its a copyright issue, but it is in the EULA that you cannot install it on non Apple hardware.
  6. Not actually true, the branded ones (Im guessing you mean the ones that you have to pay for) are just as good or better in my experience for downloading. You need to just need to be careful where you download from what ever security program you use. Also, after around 8-9 years of working in technical support enviroments I do agree Norton causes more issues than the other free software available.
  7. The engineer is wrong. The IP profile you see on a BT speedtest is generated by the DLM (Dynamic Line Managment) equipment at the local exchange. This is BT wholesale maintained equipment and BT retail do not set this. Are you able to check you sync rates on your router? Are they much different to your IP profile? The most common reason for this type of issue is if you are experiencing intermittent disconnections, double check that you connection isn't dropping. If you are syncing at a decent rate and your connection isn't dropping, ask BTr to recalculate your SNR and this should increase your IP profile (After a few days) Good luck
  8. Solved, all I needed was a compatable SATA chipset (Not the normal Via 6421a). The PMT Probe was for the Phat Liteons (Doh!)
  9. Thanks for your replies. @Resident . The 3 year warranty was only on the older 360's and only for RROD. @Ghozer The drives can be dumped using the PMT method, but you need a probe which I don't have and don't really want to spend £50 to dump one drive. Plus, I'll never get it in the 2 days I have got If I do the PCB swap then I will break the warranty sticker on the drive so cant return if its faulty.
  10. Hi All, I am replacing a faulty drive on a Xbox slim, I have the new drive and am happy that I can write to the new drive the problem is that I need to get the drive key from the old drive. Is there anyone that would be able to do this for me possible for a small fee or does anyone know any shops that will do this? I would like to get this done before Christmas so my son can play some Xbox games I got him Thanks in advance
  11. It also covers how we drive on the left! I agree with the OP on this, I got ran off the road on my motorbike by a BMW 4x4 who didn't even stop.
  12. Plusnet do have their traffic managment restrictions, however these can be virtually removed with the use of thier Pro Add-On http://www.plus.net/addons/pro/
  13. could also be backscatter spam if your email addy has been harvested, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backscatter_%28e-mail%29
  14. That looks like a speedtest result rather than you actual sync rates, first thing you will need to do is log in to your routers interface, and check your sync rates are low. If you have a low sync rater, you need to so the test socket checks mentioned. Problem is that you wont see an instant increase, your probably now going to see an improvment for up to 72 hours if a low IP profile (Delta Report) has been generated from your line by the DLM equipment at the exchange. If you have a high sync rate, you want to be checking things like viruses, using a wired connection, how many PC's on the network and what they are doing etc. Heres a few links that will help... http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/speeds2.htm http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/slowspeeds.htm All else fails, call your ISP. Who you with BTW?
  15. Its very funny you guys should say this but I found a quite large black moth in one of our bedrooms last night. Not sure of the size, but it was the biggest one I have seen. Edit: I live at Killamarsh by the way
  16. Problem solved, give it all a good clean and reapplied some AS5 and its running at 53 under load. Thanks for your help.
  17. Hi All, I have a problem where my computer just turns itself off. Im going to a LAN party next weeked, so am keen to try and get it sorted before I go. Could anyone tell me what the core temp on a Dual core Opteron 170 should be? Im getting these temps on core temp and I think this will be the reasons, Can anyone confirm if these temps could be the cause of the issue and I dont want to start messing about with the heatsink & CPU paste if I dont have too Thanks in advance Mike
  18. Dont use a hair dryer, they will not get hot enough to reflow the solder. Thats just silly. At best, it will soften the solder up enough to bridge the cracks in the solder but oxidization will build up in the cracks, the problem will then re-appear even harder to fix. Temps wise, I use 200 - 400 myself, have about a 95% fix rate.
  19. My friend was telling me that this happened to his neighbor in walkely last week
  20. Its full, the wife took one of the last places available.
  21. Hi All, Update, it was seen near lound round about 30 mins ago. If you see the bike, please call south yorkshire police on 0114 2202020
  22. Thanks All. It did have a disk lock, but no chain and padlock. I lost the key for the padlock and was planning on getting another one.
  23. Hi All, Would everyone mind keeping their eye out for my stolen black suzuki marauder Its V reg, the reg is V669 PCX. It was stolen from handsworth (Across from ASDA) between midnight last night and 8am this morning. Thanks Mike
  24. Ah, my bad. I must be losing it Forgot that routers only report the SNR Margin. Im used to dealing with actual SNR's from an ISP perspective. So that means you have 2.2Db of noise to play with before it drops speed
  25. This is called Interleaving, most ISP's can apply or remove this. Nice, high noise, low SNR with 3Mb speeds. Which ISP are you with?
