  1. It looks like it. Some councils are exempt, but they all seem to be in London and Manchester. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/areas-exempt-from-office-to-residential-change-of-use-permitted-development-right-2013
  2. Like others have said, you need to seek professional advice and the books need going through with a fine tooth comb. Why do they want to sell up? Is the location not getting enough footfall? Be aware of costs involved when buying, such as Insurance, Repairs and maintenance, Running costs or Service charge, Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and Deposit etc:More info can be found here
  3. The agents upload their own content on our website, so we have no say in what is published - unless of course it is rude or offensive.
  4. It's nice to see independent shops doing well. Great boost for the struggling high street.
  5. Did you enter into a Schedule of Condition? As this would have spotted the issues mentioned. More info: http://www.movehut.co.uk/commercial-property-guides/commercial-property-tenants-guide/maintaining-the-condition-of-a-rented-commercial-property
  6. Hi, is anyone exhibiting or attending the business show down in London at ExCel? It started yesterday and is on today also. We have a stand and it is going really well, very busy. Do you exhibit at shows? Do you think they are worth it for networking etc?
  7. Interesting. What directories do you use to find such information?
  8. Hi, have a browse on http://www.movehut.co.uk and I'm sure you will find something suitable for your music venture. Good luck
  9. This is harsh on small companies. Many are struggling enough as it is, without actually getting work then having to chase payment.
  10. They have released some more information about the plans and also have a public exhibition on 29th/30th April for the public to view. More info in this article.
  11. Rather than focusing on the old tenancy agreement, could you not show them the new one you took out when you moved? This would prove the dates. It might be worth a try?
  12. Good luck with the demo happening right now we don't need any more empty properties littering the streets.
  13. Good luck with your campaign. The last thing we need is more empty properties on the high street.
  14. As Indizine said, it is not usually allowed and if it is, it will be in the lease. Your best bet is to check with the landlord as you know him/her and then seek professional advice. Get everything in writing though, even if it is friends you are dealing with, as things can go pear shaped. Good luck
  15. Great idea and very forward thinking, but customer retention may be challenging, especially if customers have a bad experience one week and are put off from returning.
