  1. I'd say either speak to a councillor of Sheffield or if not an Event Manager who works on behalf of Sheffield's local council. Depending on what time of stall your wanting to set up, you can sometimes get funding through business chambers.
  2. As an incentive recommended by the people here at Sheffield Forums, we have now put a 30 Day Free trial of our web hosting service in to action. After the 30 days trial, the customer has then the option of upgrading to a commercial web hosting package and as a new client of Keolia, the client will be entitled to a 15% discount on his/her first invoice then recurring at the fixed price for the foreseen future. I'd gladly appreciate peoples feedback and improvements in prior to the service we provide as a business. @FACEBOOK & TJC1 - Thanks for your advise in regards to offering a incentive as this was most helpful to the launch of my business.
  3. Just to let you guys know, I have listened to your advise and I have acted on the feedback that you shared with me. 1) I have removed all the advertisements from the website. 2) I have discussed with my business partner and we are both now looking in to setting up a trial period for one months free web hosting with us on "Monkey Plus" (Middle Hosting Package) and then the month after you will entitled to a 15% discount on your first payable invoice with us. All the other months after will then be recurring at the normal price for the service. Our offer of the 15% discount applies to both "Monkey Plus" and "Monkey Pro". I appreciate your advise, and will act up on any feedback which is negotiable. Thanks, Joshua.
  4. In terms of advertising guys, I'd rather collect people views on this? As "Gambling" wasn't something I originally wanted to put on in the website although due to the lack of UK affiliates I had to choose from and the commission they'd pay I thought they would be the more slightly better ones to go with. But hey, I'm new to this so I would like your guys opinions first, and If I hear enough feedback in the sense of taking them off then I will happily remove the Advertisements from the website. Thanks, Joshua.
  5. I have resolved this issue, as it was a snippet of the code in the htaccess was directing to "https://" rather than "https://www." If you try again now, it should work. Thanks for the help there, much appreciated!
  6. Hi there, As a new business start-up and looking to prove the reliability and support of that my company provides. Yes, I would be willing to offer a month, if not (60 days) of free hosting as it would be in my best interest to receive your thoughts and feedback on the services I provide.
  7. In some ways, I'd actually doubt the government would allow the Grand Theft Auto series to be set within London now after all these riots and mayhem in London that has occurred. There was some rumours about Rockstar travelling up towards Hollywood... hmm? possible sign for the next GTA series?
  8. HTC are great phones for both personal use and business use. In my experience, they are very user friendly, have a crystal clear screen and they seem to take a lot of force before any damage is omitted to the handset. I have a few friends who have blackberries who are looking to sell them due to the lack of interest they have in them. They are good phones but I don't think they compete with the standards of the HTC. I use my HTC for e-mails, Internet and App's. I have impaired vision at night, the torch on the phone is extremely bright in terms of finding items in a dull amount of light.
  9. It'd be nice to actually experience a UK based version of Grand Theft Auto. If they did, it'd remind me in a way of an old game called "The Getaway" which was free-roam based in London.
  10. Hello, Not had chance to reply on here for some time as I have been preparing for the launch of my business as it is now officially online. Also refer to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_service_provider People have mixed opinions in the sense of whether the services are classed as an ISP. After all, my way of looking at it is that hosting is just like any other service provided through an outside world IP address and is presented as a service to my customers. Therefore, the term "ISP" indicates the type of services as I am selling as you don't have to just sell Broadband to be classified as an ISP. Although, it's everyone to their own opinion. Thanks for your advise and information you have all shared with me so far! Feedback would be much appreciated as my business is now online and can be found from Google from searching "Keolia". Thanks, Joshua.
  11. @indizine, we are providing multiple services to our consumers not just Website Hosting although, Broadband is not one of them. However, after researching in to this, some people define a company supplying the same services as an ISP whilst other define it as a Hosting company. From what I can see it is a mixed discussion. Although, when offering other main services other than just web hosting, I'm supplying more than one service that is where I'm defining it as an ISP as it is multiple Internet services across one particular network if you like? Thanks, Joshua.
  12. Hi guys, @Facebook, I never stated about not wanting to earn "big profits" in future years. Although, I did say within the first year of business I am not looking to earn a great deal of revenue as I am only still "testing the water" with the business in terms of it gaining good revenue and clients through marketing within my local areas. I am not jumping in head first and paying SEO companies to start marketing my business straight away when I really see that there is no need for such service at this stage. Yes, I would like to eventually earn "big profits" but I'm not looking to fantasize over earning these "big profits" just yet. I'm just looking to start off at a steady pace, and build my way up within the market without all the expenses. Then, if I have gained a reasonable amount of clients within the first year then that is the time I find more suitable for pushing marketing a step further by investing in to that category of service. @MobileB, Thanks for the insight on that particular of useful information you have shared. I have a sustainable business and marketing plan put together which I have put together with a guy down from the Rotherham Chambers of E-commerce. As well as not to mention other planning aspects such as time scales, time plans and planning out our ingoing's and outgoings for our first year. How we're planning to target the consumers differently in terms of the service we provide is more or less supporting our local charity. I see this as a good opportunity for my business to become more recognised at the same time giving some thing back to support our area locally rather than widespread (and this charity does apply to Sheffield area and if not throughout widespread across the UK) and there aren't actually any type of ISP's that do support this charity at the moment which is a good choice for me in terms of supporting a charity which is local whilst doing "our" small part for the community. I mean getting involved in events in terms of charity through hosting events within Rotherham and Sheffield which can be funded throughout the Rotherham Chambers are great ways in my eyes for a start in marketing my business. Yes, it may not be widespread marketing here, but it's just the thought of becoming recognised for who we are first within our local areas (Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster etc...) which counts first. We've kept prices low, affordable and set up fees to a minimum as well as a 15% discount (summer time promotion) to give customers value for money hosting. Yes, I understand it may not be most "competitiveness" service out there in comparison with the bigger ISP's although, after comparing the prices with companies within South Yorkshire, I think we do pretty good reasonable prices and could compete quite well with other companies within South Yorkshire when it comes to our Website Hosting and Domain Names features and pricing. Also, another good reason is the fact that a customer who lives for example "South Yorkshire" region would much prefer in my eyes to host with a company most local to them with good quality customer support, reviews and service. Rather than paying "over the odds" for a host at the other end of the country. But like you said, the market is competitive although, I guess that is the fun of the game and take build my way up the ladder like everyone else has to and hope for the best. I appreciate your advice and will take on-board information there you stated about the differences in terms of pricing for what different companies charge for their identical services they supply. @sccsux - Thanks for that It'd be neat to do broadband years down the line if the actual right amount of income was coming in to invest in to that particular type of service. Although, yeah the pages go on forever in the Google search of Web Hosting companies. Although, I reckon the best way is trying to be different in terms of providing new services to the market eventually or compete using existing services that other companies supply. Over time, I would like to build Keolia up in to an actual network with sub-branches leading off to different services. Although, I'm keeping an open-mind on things and see how well my first year goes in business. @esme, Thank you, I was looking for a mod online last night and couldn't find one. Cheers for your comments so far guys, appreciate them all
  13. When starting off, there is no "huge" profit margin required to lift the business off it's feet. Of course it won't be an ultimate immediate profit maker within the first few years of service, but that's the whole point of keeping the scale of marketing around local areas high after the business has been launched. It's the name which is to get recognition here more than my self and my partner that runs the business. Yes, their is a big requirement in having my partner in the business at the moment. When running a business (which may seem small to you) but to both my self and my partner quite big especially when running it around school, college, coursework it a secondary partner is the ultimate option to fill in the gaps for when I am elsewhere.
  14. Thank you (: Once again, I appreciate your comments and feedback. I hope to carry on the right tracks and slowly progress to providing the local community of Rotherham, Sheffield and the United Kingdom with services that will increase the popularity of the business. (All in good time) is the way I look at it.
  15. @draggletail, thank you very much! well it is hard to say but after researching around a bit many people seem to class a hosting organization as an ISP? I'm not too familiar with many other short definitions to describe it as. Although we provide other services in addition to just website hosting. Cheers, Joshua.
