thank you MR BLOKE for your advice however it didn't do me much good because I don't understand it, that will give you some idea of my computer skills (big fat zero) however I have noticed that my network connection (zyxel6953ugf) sometimes says connected but underneath it says limited can you explain that to me please.

Hi everyone ,I have just bought a new Toshiba computer windows 8.1.I have gone through the setting up procedure ok .I can connect to the internet, but if I don't use it for 15-20 minutes the computer switches itself off. I then have to restart it.my router switches itself off I then have to wait for my internet connection again is this normal or am I doing something wrong. Any advice would be appreciated I am not very computer minded so any advice in laymens language please

I remember being caned many times.I went to Newhall school in the 40s and 50s We took the punishment because we probably deserved it.Can you imagine kids today being caned they would no doubt sue the school and would need counselling.We don't have hang ups about it now and don't look for excuses for any failings we may have.

Hello everyone.Talk Talk sent me a new router and microfilter which I have installed.I have done a speed test and I am now getting 2.15.Hopefully this will cure my problem.I am not technically minded so I have to rely on good people like you.I thank you all for your help and advise.

Thanks everyone for your advise.I have been in touch with Talk Talk and they said I should be receiving 2.0.However they said they would send me a new router to see if this would solve the problem.When I get it I will let you know if it makes any difference.Watch this space.
