  1. Thanks, Akiem, RIP to a lovely gent. A pleasure to have met him.
  2. Did anyone ever work in a call centre during the 80's or 90's? Were the rules more 'relaxed' than now, ie. Data Protection and call quality, etc? What relating to the workday was different than now (system technology aside)? Call volumes, etc?
  3. Yes it is NTFS. But if 4tb isn't it down to the TV's USB power (ie. over 2tb) and FAT format wouldn't work?
  4. Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes it's 4tb and USB powered.
  5. My Toshiba smart TV has been ok with my Seagate External 2tb portable Hard Drive for ages, playing the files as soon as plugged in. I bought a new WD External portable hard drive (4tb), connecting ok to my laptop and I copied files across from my old HD to this new one. However, I plugged the new HD into the USB of my TV, but nothing happened? The TV simply says there is no drive connected?
  6. Oh yeah, because Barnsley's dense BNP imbeciles have a stall in the town centre- very forward thinking and intelligent to attract foreign/business investment.
  7. Seeing how the former KGB Lt.Col is getting even nastier with the UK and other nations- increased cyber attacks (as well as historically sending his navy into the Channel, scrambling jets into our airspace and [alledgedly] killing other agents here) why don't we upset him back with his movie look-alike, Gollum/Smeagol? This angered him way back then. https://9gag.com/gag/6437053/putin-gollum-dobby When Lord of the Rings came out umpteen years ago he was apparently not too pleased that Smeagol/Gollum, was based on him!! https://www.theguardian.com/film/2003/jan/30/harrypotter.news
  8. My Mrs has an old Siemens phone archived away, which still works (battery and USB cable) but when we plug it into my laptop there is no driver to connect it? We've searched online, incl the Siemens website, but are out of luck- She might well have to get a cheap SIM and send them, but are there other options? Thanks
  9. I heard about this site from a friend, who showed me the deals etc that can be bought there- including 'replica' mobile phones at discounted prices, ie. Samsungs. However, it initially sounds dodgy to me, and many of the online reviews slate their customer service post-sale, even if they seem decent guys, as some state? But I could be wrong
  10. I used to work with a large guy called John Gee who said he used to do bare knuckling, sometimes at the back of the Roxy nightclub.
  11. My other half asked me to try to find (buy or legally download) a service book for her gas boiler- any - but it's dead 'ard to find. Does anyone know of somewhere online to buy or download one?
  12. It's not anything new (Iggy Pop advertising insurance a few years ago) but surely American stars don't come here to the UK for the 'lure' of our money? Heather Graham, Harvey Keitel and Kevin Bacon? There are plenty of other Americans in British ads at the moment, people not so well known. I didn't think our TV was that attractive?
  13. That's the region I was meaning, yes- both the Chancet View area and the bit next to the school on that path that curved near/above the entrance at the end of Roxton. Not that type of photo!
  14. I grew up in the 70's and used to hang about with mates in the extensive 'allotment' woods (extending from above Abbey Lane school to Chancet Wood and Gleesons brickyard) before it all became the Chancet Wood estate, near St Thomas school. Also the nearby formely wild wooded/overgrown region that is now the housing on Roxton Ave/Chancet Wood View, behind the current Waggon & Horses garage (Roxton used to be a bumpy, oily dirt track strewn with fragments of glass!) I have tried to source old photos but no website seems to have any- not did the city library records, old Star papers or anyone who read the Activ8 magazine. So they're in my head only, sadly. Does anyone else remember them?
  15. On Freeview channels 66-70 there is a trailer (Fox TV?) advertising popular TV shows such as NCIS, Bull etc, and in the background is a rock/country-style song with a female singing about (I think) "Catch you burning to the beat of my heart..." I've exhausted Google/Youtube but had no luck. Does it sound familiar?
  16. I doubt that either were considered for Sgt.Pepper? All you need is love was written for the Beatles contribution to the world's live broadcast watched by 200million. It's all too much was finally used for the Yellow Sub film soundtrack.
  17. Thanks for the replies, I did check before posting and mid-Sept IS only 3mths/12wks away? Last year worked at this timsescale?
  18. Have any other fans (not haters, please) heard this version, released by Giles Martin, son of legendary producer George, on the 50th anniversary of the album's release. It's basically the same, but for slight mixing variations which really bring out the vocals and some backing instruments, enhancing the original masters, for me.
  19. Last year I managed to find advanced rail tickets for two (South coast to York, booked in March for June) with a Two Together railcard using Great Western Railway, costing a total (return) of £40!! Are there any such deals on this year, or have I missed them? I searched the main rail companies and they all suggest (up to Aug 17 max is allowed only, wanting Sept) c.£250??
  20. No, clicking on the X - annoying having to close tabs from the very end on the right?
  21. I use the latest Chrome version and whenever I have multiple tabs open and try closing any to the right (not the one on the extreme end, but any inbetween) not just the one tab closes, but two/three? I bought a new mouse but the issue persists, and checked that the mouse settings are ok (though double-clicking seems to be an issue sometimes?) I've run my antivirus programs (malwarebytes and Ccleaner)- nothing found. Is this an undetected virus or a mouse issue (new battery!)?
  22. In the latest Vitality Health TV advert, our Jess is seen pictured in a park? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XImKrA_HXTE Is it Meersbrook Park?
  23. At the end of the second Christmas Office special of 2003 (at the staff party), Brent meets a lovely, intelligent lady called Carol (tall, slim brunette) on a blind date whom he seems to get on with. He even defends her aggressively when Finchy and Niel make rude jibes about her. As Brent in this film is so desperate to meet someone and dismiss the notion of being inexperienced, surely his character would have at least reflected to the camera that he had met and got along with Carol, however it ended?
