  1. I've looked into settings > downloads and already have the correct boxes ticked? I'm guessing that this is yet another dumb Google Chrome update where they've hidden the chrome://flags settings?
  2. Irritatingly, this only started in the last few weeks. I used to simply download a file etc to my default folder (ie. my external hard drive) without any issues. Now, with any download, the pop up appears asking me to choose a damned folder (of course then having to click through to my chosen folder), adding time onto a project.
  3. Yes, that's how I remember it. I used to dash in from the all weather pitches, past the gym, up the stairs and into your old classroom for German with Gilman. I suppose there was classrooms in that corridor, (no double doors at the other end?) I just never saw anyone going in there, ever, when the pips rush went.
  4. Yeah, so what was in the corridor below that one?
  5. I was recently trying to describe to my fiance my old school's layout. I got most of it but could not remember this part- As you came out of the PE gym:- A. To the right (doubling back) was an exit to the fields/all weather. B. Straight ahead was through double doors that led to the Science block and that outdoor square area C. Left (doubling back) were stairs going up to the long corridor of German/English classrooms. But between B & C was another set of doors- what was along there? I used to have a class in G80 at the other end on the ground floor and there were no doors leading towards the gym. I figured that it must be a long corridor with rooms mirroring 'C'?
  6. This is all I get via Everything. Nothing with the usual Recycle option.
  7. Yes, thanks, I know what you mean. What I'm saying is- if I go straight to the recycle folder, or do/try anything else to find these files, they're unseen/missing. When I use that Everything app thing, a window pops up and 'finds' the files by name, but they don't appear as they would normally. There is a right click to 'restore' them, but this does nothing. Don't worry, I think I'll just take the laptop somewhere. Thanks anyway.
  8. Yes, if I see them in that ''Everything'' app window (and restore doesn't!), otherwise viewing the Recycle folder shows nothing
  9. Well they show up - not as they were before- but with a '$' before their path names, and cannot be yet restored, viewed or anything else. I don't know the next step to get them back. I dunno if this makes them hidden, encrypted or what?
  10. E: is my external drive. C is my laptop drive The files are NOW only showing up because I have downloaded and used the Everything app that you gave the link for
  11. I've tried to be clear. I had one yellow folder, inside it was that locker thing used to hide/display, plus another yellow folder which contained some files I hid securely, or revealed again as needed. I moved the 'main' yellow folder from one location on my hard drive to another. Then inside it, I moved that locker (not unlocker) file icon - leaving the files folder itself- to another folder, to foolishly experiment. The folder then vanished. I think it's actually hidden, but revealing all hidden files in the properties thing reveals nothing. I have just downloaded ''Everything'' from the web and it seems to locate the file names in recycle bin, with a path of E: $Recycle Bin etc, but they're usually unseen? Yes I have.
  12. Thanks, I will. I wasn't sure the files were deleted, just hidden/encrypted?
  13. Today I have ''lost'' some important files. I'll try and explain. Ages ago I started using Folderlocker, (B) not an app, but a simple and formely capable locker I downloaded, as shown. It sat in a folder (C) with the files (C) and requires a password to lock and unlock it, which then reveals/hides the files in their own folder (A), and has worked well, never causing issues or showing up in anti-virus tests. However, I today moved the main folder (A) to my hard drive, which worked well. BUT I then somehow moved (B) on it's own to another folder on my HD, and my files (still in the folder) disappeared? I have tried the recycle folder and even tried searching by name on my HD and C: folder for 'Locker', but nothing. The internet resolutions haven't worked either so far, and seemed dated. Hope that's as clear as it can be. Hope someone has an idea.
  14. It's just decades backwards in racial terms. Sheffield isn't far behind, though.
  15. I was at Rowlinson in the 70's-80's and, as it may have been at many establishments, nearly all teacher's breaths stank vile. Some way more than others (Certain RE and physics teachers! *cough*) And that was even from a couple of feet away, let alone if they leaned in, or over your shoulder! But why? Coffee and cigs? Not brushing teeth? Medical issues? Take a mint before lessons, for Christ's sakes.
  16. I just want a reference from my DWP line manager for my new employer, from when I worked for the DWP (in Salisbury) a year ago? I rang that branch and the person answering seemed vague. They do have an HR, right? Either that or they are reluctant to give details (odd?) as it's GDPA or something?? A search online is a nightmare of going round in circles? What's the big secret?? And they want people to work?
  17. This can only be for posters of ''a certain vintage'' who's memories go back to about the early 70's . Does anyone remember Infant/junior class teachers Mrs Mallaband, Mrs Saxby (I think), Miss Glenn and Mrs Palfreyman? I only just vaguely remember them, but their names kinda still resonate. In the juniors (J3, aged 10), I still think fondly of Mr Staniforth, a games teacher. lovely man, funny, kind and kept us engrossed with his charisma.
  18. Who wants to see these clapped out old boys clothing off, ffs? 🤢😝
  19. Hi I have an Apple SE2020 iphone and am using Firefox as my browser. Is it possible to get website shortcuts to my home screen? I've tried searching for apps and info but can't find any or see if it's possible? Thanks
  20. This exlains The Ukraine-Russia history all very well - 2015 by US Professor.
  21. You need to research into Walt Disney's own past to find what kind of mentality he fostered, and his firm still follows today. Also what kind of playground 'toys' are apparently suitable, according to his ilk. Can't post here for obvious reasons.
  22. Wow, thanks, Janet. Didn't know about the air raid shelters. Maybe the grass banks evolved to cover the old shelters up?
  23. For anyone of a ''certain age'', do you remember before the playground existed when the school bank extended right up to the classrooms? There was [from distant memory!) a narrow path by the main building (off the infant yard and climbing frame) and the 'bank' dropped gently at the back as now, then more or less level until it reached the school itself. There was also a tennis court on the left of the grass bank near the infant's playing yard.
