  1. Sorry, yes it is for a cat. Where abouts are you Binga?
  2. Hi all, I have a new mum and her three babies that were born on Sunday night. One of the babies has started to lose weight and is suddenly noticeably smaller than his brothers. He just isn't latching on to his mum at all, and is becoming less responsive. I wondered if anyone has any lactol I can pick up tonight. I tried calling Peak vets at Abbeydale as I thought it was open all night, but apparently not. I'm in Hillsborough. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks!
  3. Wow, this might explain what has happened to my cats. They usually love Felix, but for the last 2 weeks they have completely refused to eat it at all. I got quite annoyed with them thinking they were getting fussy, but have ended up resorting to the Good as it Looks ones that are on offer at Morrisons. They are wolfing that down again. How strange!
  4. Ah, it's just that I'm fostering a black and white mum with newborn babies for the RSPCA, but she is long haired. Just thought it was worth asking. Sorry!
  5. Do you have a picture of the cat that is missing Gina? Is it long haired or short haired?
  6. We go running round the Bradfield Dam and our treat once we get round is to drive up to the farm and buy icecream and apple pies. I'll never get thin, but boy will I be fit!!
  7. Thanks everyone. I feel so sorry for her mum - their original cat had died suddenly a few months before I fostered Enzo, and there was a lot of thought and soul-searching that went into it before Enzo was adopted. They wanted to make sure they weren't just replacing the previous cat, but would love her in her own right. And now she is gone and it's really difficult for them to accept.
  8. Enzo is still missing, and her mum has just about given up hope on her. Please have a look at the pictures - do you live around the S2 area and have adopted a stray, or are you feeding her? We'd love to know if she is okay. If she has found somewhere she'd rather live, we'd just like to know that she is alive and well. Thanks for reading.
  9. Ours was due last Monday and it didn't happen. Was in two minds this morning whether to bring it back off the street as i really didn't think it would get emptied now. Saw all the snow and thought I'd leave it another day rather than struggling with it. Just got back from work and it's been emptied! Yay!
  10. What a good idea! Trouble is, by the time they got here the snow will be gone for another year and I'll have forgotten about them by the time it's like this again!
  11. Just thought I'd bump this up in case anyone new sees it - Enzo is still missing and it'd be so nice to see her home for Christmas. Posters up around the area and all the obvious places informed. Just hoping someone sees this and recognises her. Fingers crossed
  12. I was just looking at the title of this thread and wondered if anyone ever saw titles like that and thought "ooh I wonder if they are talking about me" (I knew you weren't talking about me 'cus I'm not a man )
  13. One of the kittens I fostered this year went to a friend who lives in S2. The kitten is called Enzo, is now 8 months old and is the love of their lives (along with Fudge the rabbit). Unfortunately she didn't come home for her tea on Wednesday and despite lots of searching and finger crossing still hasn't come back. She lives in the Manor Lane/Skye Edge area. She is black and white with a distinct zigzag of white on her back right leg. She is microchipped, neutered and was wearing a red collar when she went missing. This is the first time she has ever wandered off so my friend and her family are obviously quite worried about her. If anyone sees her could you pm me? Here are a few recent pics Enzo 1 Enzo 2 Enzo 3 Enzo 4 Edited to add - my friend has filled the RSPCA lost cat form in, but any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
  14. I love Direct Debits - I used to get a lurch in my stomach when I got my post when I first got my own place in case it was a bill I might have forgotten was coming, but now I look forward to getting my post. Not sure why - it's never very exciting
  15. Aargh!!! Oh well, that'll teach me to keep track in future!!
  16. I'm just renewing my cats insurance and one of the questions is asking if the cat had its vaccination or booster in the last year. I confidently marked the "yes" box, and then thought I'd better go and check before I bought the insurance. Can't believe it, but Georgie and Fudge had their last vaccination in February 2008 !! I adopted Oblee last December and he'd had his in the September, so I'm hoping he is okay to have a booster. But will Georgie and Fudge have to have the full treatment now or is it not too late? Advice would be much appreciated
  17. <note to self - never post when you're in a foul mood!>
  18. What lovely posts. I think i'll bookmark this thread for if anything happens to any of my zoo. I can't think of any animal I've ever owned and lost that hasn't left a guilty feeling behind and a lot of "if only's". The sad truth is that animals don't usually live as long as us and they are more likely to get in trouble with foxes, cars, animal haters and on top of that they can't tell us if they feel poorly and sometimes it isn't obvious. This all means that they leave us feeling as though we should have done something more. The only thing you can do, as has been said already, is to focus on the wonderful life they had with you. In comparison the time they passed away was a tiny part of their life, the vast majority of it was full of love.
  19. I'm not too far from you Gina if you still want some help. Even if it's just to wrap the poor liittle thing in a towel until your mum gets there tomorrow. Let me know
  20. I waited for years for mine too - sorry Cooljules!! - and I'm so glad I did. These are mine when they were kittens: - Scribble and Fudge Fudge had kittens and I was really really hoping she would have some grey ones, but they were all black or black and white. I still fell in love with them though and ended up keeping Georgie who is just as cute and naughty and lovable: - Georgie And then I ended up adopting my foster cat Oblee who is ginger and white - not a colour I'd ever have chosen. But his personality is the best you could ever wish for in a cat - he gives me so much love back. So I've seen it from both sides. If you really want a grey one then you should wait. But if you got a different coloured one you'll still fall in love with it.
  21. Sorry, change of plan - going for a quick run instead. Hopefully I'll join you on the next one. Yes, Mr P knows and he isn't going. Hope you don't get too wet
  22. I have some bedding that I've been collecting together. I have transport if needed. I'm in S5 so anything else reasonably small (I only have a small car) I'll be happy to pick up from around here if necessary.
  23. Hi, I have some oval buffet trays in my loft from my old business. Some silver ones, some big plastic ones that would probably need covering with silver foil. I was thinking about putting them on Freecycle, but I'd rather give them to someone on here. Let me know if you are interested.
