  1. Sorry to hear of this! It may be worth checking the local cash converters - our car was broken into a few years ago and our stuff turned up there!
  2. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=362964643853314&id=310528539096925 It'll be a great night!!!!!! Get yourselves down there!!!
  3. Hi My 1 year old Grey tabby has a food intolerance. We tried her on several foods over a period of time including James Wellbeloved and Iams etc She can't tolerate wet food She has very runny poo sometimes with blood which the vet says is due to the capillaries bleeding when she's been runny for few days She's been to the vet and given several injections and put on an ID GI dry food diet This seems to have sorted the problem though it's very limiting for her. there are some 'chicken' tin versions available from the vet She basically tries to eat anything! Which is tough as we have another cat who has pouches and dried foods Any thoughts or ideas welcome including cheaper alternatives as its quite expensive at £1-50 a tin ( the size of a tuna tin) for the chicken food!!! Thank you
  4. My son has a learning disability and attends college. He has a disability travel pass and has been told to pay full fare this morning before 9.30 am!!! We knew nothing about this and it has caused much distress for him today:rant:
  5. early bird at the Milestone , La vaca (Broomhill) or Thyme
  6. Just up from Forge Dam, past the dam itself then up towards Ringinglow. You will see a few dog wakers but its stunning
  7. Oh that's so sad, I know exactly what you're going through. We still cry at the loss of Merlin - it takes you by surprise sometimes! Take some comfort in that you did the kindest thing, such a tough decision We had a proper memorial family do for Merlin - it really helped It'll be tough at christmas for sure, but you will find some peace. I remember feeling 'when will the pain end - its the shock and love that takes over Try to be kind to yourself and allow time to grieve and remember - it will come XX ---------- Post added 20-12-2013 at 20:54 ---------- The pics are so lovely and a reminder of happier times and memories that will stay with you We plan to plant an apple tree in the spring - a sign of life, a focus AND as Merlin used to pinch apples from the fruit bowl - the only way we realised was obviously that some had gone, but we are a big family, but the stalk and pips were left on the floor!!!
  8. I think they're about £50 each? There are some mobile ones that do it from home
  9. Really sorry for your loss and the last act of kindness was to end the suffering We had our dalmatian Merlin put to sleep 3 weeks ago today so I can share yr loss Hugs and take care of yourselves xx
  10. I've been to Noodle Inn many times and love their food but can't help but knowing it's cutting it's portion sizes and upping it's prices - may be something to do with the re-fit but its really disappointing that a cafe style place is selling out!! The food is still good On a similar note, their sister place in Broomhill - We've been once when it opened and were surprised at the prices!!! yes the food was 'ok' but not what they'd bigger it up to be!! I have seen they have some offers on for lucy deals etc but they are really going to have to cater to the local clientele if they want to make an impact I was really excited with the venture but I won't be going back
  11. Abandoned Faith an original hard rock band from Sheffield, comeback gig to be announced very shortly and they are currently number 3 on the reverbnation rock charts for Sheffield. Soon to be recording a brand new single. Please visit the link below for more info and FREE downloads! Thank you!
  12. Thank you all for your kind words, it has really helped We have Merlin's ashes at home now which is a comfort! The pain is easing and managing a few smiles and laughs about the fond memories of our years together though I'm sure I will still expect him to bark when i go to the door or expect him to walk around the corner at any moment for some time to come! Our other dog Chester seems absolutely fine!!!! He's not looked for Merlin or shown any grief! he actually seems a bit 'calmer' (he's a Lhasa) - we often had 'protest poo's' from him and lots of 'guarding' but its all stopped!!!
  13. For Merlin….. Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….Author unknown
  14. Thanks so much for your kind words of comfort It feels so raw at the moment and I don't know how I will get through - well, all of us How long will it take? silly question but the pain is unbearable Hoping to have his ashes soon - can't cope with the thought of him being as he was when he left our home with the vet on tuesday
  15. thank you so much for your replies, it has helped!! he was so loved that's true - ever giving to us and asked for very little;completely unconditional love!! I can barely function right now, completely gutted!!! He is having an individual cremation and we're scattering his ashes on a part of his favourite walk near `forge dam' - a few flowers and chews thrown in for his journey we miss him so much but hoping that will give us some comfort :-((((
