  1. Just get a piece of plywood or hardwood (whatever is solid, not pliable) from your hardware store, throw it on the bed , lie on it and start your crunches. You can keep your head on the mattress, so you don't bonk it on the wood on the return trip down. Then when you have finished your 200 or so, just throw the wood under the bed. There's nothing worse than that lemony whiff of toilet cleaner (or worse) every time you gasp for air.
  2. Thankyou Don_Kiddick, cgksheff (for the address) and BJan for offering to make fms, it's really very kind of you. I have managed to locate a company, via Sheffield Scene, which deals in fridge magnets and souvenirs for Sheffield and surrounding areas and am in contact with them. Hopefully I will be purchasing a few from them, which I guess will be the easiest solution. Cheers to all of you for all your help.
  3. I know this may sound irrelevant, but after a year of suffering with similar symptoms, e.g. sweating, palpitations, total and utter depression, going to sleep an hour after I woke up in the mornings, it was discovered I had an underactive thyroid. It was so underactive that it had just about stopped working entirely. It's a simple blood test, as you probably know, worth a try if you haven't done so before. After a week on thyroxine (only 1 small 100mcg tablet) I felt a hell of a lot better. I can't say that it completely eradicated my normal anxiety and depression, I am still coping with that, but it is a lot easier to deal with and I don't require the anxiety tablets I was living on (kalma tablets, over here in Australia). Good luck, keep up the good fight!
  4. Thankyou cgksheff and Andy for your replies. Will check both places out. This is my first attempt at forums and I'm thrilled to have received your responses. It's 9.20 pm Saturday night in Tasmania and I am watching The Bill. (That's great excitement I hear you say). Hope you are both well and happy. Thanks again!
  5. I live in Australia, but was born in Sheffield. My Mum, aged 74, has a longing to buy some fridge magnets, the acrylic ones, about 2 inches by 3-1/2 inches, depicting scenes of Sheffield, Bakewell, Castleton, Mam Tor, etc. I was wondering if anybody has noticed these types of fridge magnets for sale in their local newsagents or a souvenir shop? If so, could you let me have the name, address and telephone number or maybe their website, if they have one. I have been surfing the net and ringing tourist information centres but haven't had too much luck. Would appreciate any help in this matter. Thank you very much. P.S. Enjoying reading discussions in the forum, makes me homesick!
