  1. There are posts about this issue on the HP forums. If you have a look at this one you will see that using a browser other than Edge fixes the problem (and Edge may be sorted at a later date).
  2. They're not just a Sheffield thing: urban foxes have been common for years. Even so, having lived in Oxford, London, and Bristol before I moved to Sheffield, I never managed to see one... My first was crossing Northumberland Rd (years ago), and, since moving to Greno, we've had the pleasure of individuals passing through the Temuchin estate. And leaving a calling card...
  3. Getting off-topic, but we recently spent a couple of days in NY (Manhattan) and found that vaping there is really no different from in the UK: just use a bit of commonsense and consideration and there's no problem. The only annoying bit was that there is not a smoking area once you're airside at JFK; but I seem to have survived that without any noticeable physical or psychological damage...
  4. Might be worth having a look at this site. I've found it very informative.
  5. Flightradar has the historical playback available. Looks OK, but it was a mess on the live flight.

  7. Wednesday have at least shown some imagination in managerial appointments in recent years. But Steve Bruce? Seriously? Smacks of desperation. He might get to play-offs or even runners up on past performance, but he's no long-term prospect. Just scraping promotion might bring short-lived satisfaction, but the fall will come quickly. And back to square one...
  8. In light of recent press reports indicating that plastic waste is being allowed to leak into rivers and oceans rather than be properly disposed of, would it now be better to follow Swindon council's move and black-bin all plastic waste? I say this as an ardent recycler, but I no longer have confidence in the plastics recycling industry.
  9. Do you not think that there might have been even "nicer" alternatives?
  10. From what I can make out, the closest that 52/52a gets passengers to Crookes will be the stop by Crookesmoor Rd. After that, they run light up Lydgate to turn at Crosspool. Then, presumably, the first pick-up going back into town will be the stop after the Grindstone? Anyone living at the top end of Crookes is going to have a bit of an uphill plod... I'm still unclear about which road sections around Walkley will be closed and when; but I thought next week will be from South Rd to Greenhow, hence the lack of any turning area for the 52 after the Grindstone. Although the 95 is allegedly running to Tinker Lane, so maybe it's just the section from Bolehill Rd to Greenhow? And it doesn't help that Google Maps has been showing the whole section from Ripley St bottom to Greenhow as closed for the past couple of days, when it patently hasn't been.
  11. I feel the same: I can't get my head round this at all. It's essentially no more than replacing the blue box with a bin but not collecting as frequently. How is this (in their words) making it easier for me to recycle? It seems to be the exact opposite! Have they explained the rationale behind this change? They're still collecting the same stuff, so why has a joint collection of cans/paper become an issue for them such that it needs to be split into separate collections? How does it save money?? It's an unnecessary complication, and, as far as I can see, will just mean that there will be (even) more people who dump everything in the black bin.
  12. Presumably they mean use something like this on your phone when you're on a train journey, save the log as a GPX file, and email it to them.
  13. Speaking from personal experience, I can say there definitely are (were?) deer in the Greno Woods area. I've only seen the one, though, as it bolted across my path. That was a couple of years back; I do a lot of walking in that area and it's the only time I've seen one. Perhaps spotting them is time-of-day dependent, as I tend to do walks late morning?
  14. Several times over recent months, I've had this sort of message from Twitter. Is anyone else getting this? Or knows what might trigger it? I've taken the trouble to read their "Twitter Rules" but still have no idea. At first, I suspected that it might be a whinge about my using a VPN, but this latest one happened when I haven't used a VPN for days.
  15. Nailed it! Brilliant. Thanks very much!
  16. It's getting towards midnight, and I'm feeling rather hungry. Can you help...? On the original topic, I've e-mailed OS about it, but don't realistically expect a reply for a while - if ever. Just 7* annoyed that I didn't make a note of where I got the maps from... ---------- Post added 12-05-2018 at 22:57 ---------- Exactly. There's a chance I might have Photoshopped several tiles together, but I certainly would not have put flow arrows in! Never even noticed them until today. And the typeface doesn't seem like an OS one?
  17. I tend to avoid water! I certainly didn't pay for access to the maps - unless they were previously available on OS Maps and have now been withdrawn.
  18. Hmm... It seems I found some very detailed maps online somewhere last December, but I have absolutely no idea where now. The maps are ones like this one. Very detailed, showing paths, direction of flow of streams, and no grid lines. Does anyone happen to know where I might have got them from?! I do have a subscription to OS Maps, but none of their offerings match this level of detail.
  19. Under the rules that came into force in April 2017, the fine is now related to income, but what happens if the driver is not in employment, receives no benefits, and is entirely dependent on spouse's income? How would the fine be calculated in such a case? Would there be a minimum fine, or a fine based on the spouse's income?
  20. Not quite such a mouthful if they'd bothered inserting spaces! Húnán xīnyuántáng diànzǐ shāngwù yǒuxiàn gōngsī = Hunan Xinyuantang E-commerce Co., Ltd. 湖南鑫源堂电子商务有限公司
  21. Nice to see they're still using a random number generator for the bus serving Grenoside: had 13, 35, 66, 77, 85, and now 135 since I've lived here.
  22. You do not have to pay by card: the pumps on aisle 1 certainly do not force you to. "Press button to pay at kiosk" it says on the screen...
