Yes, actually But call me a liar if it makes you feel better lol. I never wanted to go for pub lunches before but we actually enjoy doing so now, because it's lovely to be able to spend the rest of the day without my hair and clothes smelling of other peoples stale fag smoke. I've been to the pub tonight and it will be fantastic to lie in bed tonight and not have to smell smoke on my hair every time I turn over. Wibbles put it perfectly. I don't care if smokers smoke, they can do what they like in their own homes or in an open space, I couldn't give a hoot. I only care when they selfishly inflict it on everybody else in the vicinity, which is what inevitably happens in enclosed spaces such as pubs. And believe it or not, I don't mind the smell of fresh cigarettes, I used to smoke myself infact, but inevitably the whole place soon reeks of stale old smoke that sticks to everybody until they next shower and wash their clothes, and it's not pleasant. It's like when a smoker comes and sits by you on the tram, you can smell it immediately and it's kind of

I didn't say it was a national trend, I just said that me and a lot of others do, i.e people I know. The downturn in pub custom is most likely not simply due to the ban, the recession and the ever-cheaper bargains of alcohol in supermarkets are also no doubt to blame. It clearly isn't putting off that many smokers, you only have to look outside the doors to see that smokers are still going for a drink (as you said yourself, you're one). Nightclubs don't seem to be suffering despite them also coming under the ban.

What's refreshing about being subjected to other peoples filthy fumes? I actually enjoy being able to go and have a drink with friends without being choked at regular intervals, me and a lot of others are going to pubs more than before the ban for this very reason.

What would be the outcome if you were caught by these type of cameras, just a fine, or a fine and points?

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the traffic cones that have been put out along a section of Dykes Hall Road, near to Avondale Road. They've been there a couple of days when I've walked down there and say "No Waiting" on them, just wondered if there's going to be some roadworks carried out on there? Can't see anything about it on the council website.

Was just saying this to OH earlier, it's about the 6th time in the last month that I've seen them out.

I'm still not a fan of the strips of burgundy tarmac that go across the road. I understand that they're supposed to indicate possible places for pedestrians to cross the road, but unfortunately the pedestrians seem to think they're some sort of zebra crossing and that simply being near one means they can step out into the road regardless of how much traffic is coming. Despite there being two perfectly good light-controlled crossings not far away.

The worst is when you're stood behind someone in a cash point queue and after getting the money they take hold of the receipt that they have CHOSEN to have printed, and without even looking at it they crumple it up and chuck it on the floor. Seen too many people do that...

I saw this page from a Google search last night dated November, saying that H Samuels now stock them, but I went to Meadowhall to look today but they don't stock them. Does anyone know if the one in town have them in? Ernest Jones at Meadowhall had them but we've got a gift voucher for H Samuel so would prefer to buy from there. The Pandora section in Ernest Jones was almost empty of stock too so not much choice left.

I don't think for one minute that the driver was about to go and batter them... Nobody said it's fine for someone to go up and punch a chav playing music, they said people should challenge them. Challenge doesn't have to mean violence.

Tram conductor made a chav turn off his "music" today, much to the relief of everyone else on the tram. Was quite funny, the chav kept it on for about 30 seconds after the conductor had gone past, probably trying to look hard, but then he pretended to get a phone call and never turned it back on.

We tried the Fish & Chips one last night, they're horrible :/ Threw half the packet in the bin and have got 5 left in the cupboard that will never be eaten! The Chilli & Chocolate is my favourite, OH likes Builders Breakfast.
