  1. Well, you say that. But the country is showing to be majority in the remain camp. I do not think the Tories are stupid enough to not look at the next GE. Remember, what are the parties main aim above all else? To remain in power.
  2. 3x Remain and 3x Leave. Real runaway victory for Leave there. Really? Wales has flipped to being a Remain nation.
  3. Let’s have a very pessimistic view of all of this. Currently at the time of this post; Remain – 40.4% Leave – 42.5% This does not include Labour’s 1.5 million votes. So, since 75% of Labour voters are remainers, want a guess which side will have a majority? Hint, 2% of the vote at this moment is worth about 190,000 votes. It's a moot point since Labour have basically come out as a remain party tonight.
  4. Live results - After 135 of 373 counts complete The truth hurts, right?
  5. So the current results of NINE places beats the NATIONAL vote count how?
  6. Current national vote share is as of the time of this post; Remain - 5,370,525 Leave - 4,158,875
  7. Thornberry: We weren't clear on Brexit "We are going to get a kicking," says Labour's Emily Thornberry. "The point is we went into an election where the most important issue was our view on leaving the EU. "And we were not clear on the one thing people wanted to hear. "We should have said that any Brexit deal should be put to a confirmatory referendum. "And that Labour would have campaigned to remain." Yes, Labour are a leave party. I think you have trouble understanding English. Hint, look at the bit I highlighted in bold for you.
  8. Putting Labour in the leave column is very disingenuous desperate, especially with what Labour are saying tonight. I’ll say again, how MEPs were elected for remain versus leave. Go educate yourself and then comeback.
  9. The uneducated need educating. Go look up how MEPs are won based on vote share. Then come back and have an informed debate. Thought I would nip it in the bud to stop you wasting anyone's time. Thanks.
  10. Hmm.... How many remain MEPs are there to leave MEPs in Sheffield? I forgot, Brexiteers can't count LMAO. Meanwhile from the BBC, Thornberry: We weren't clear on Brexit "We are going to get a kicking," says Labour's Emily Thornberry. "The point is we went into an election where the most important issue was our view on leaving the EU. "And we were not clear on the one thing people wanted to hear. "We should have said that any Brexit deal should be put to a confirmatory referendum. "And that Labour would have campaigned to remain." Labour is turning into a remain party.
  11. Ok, you can't seem to join dots. I am not wasting any more time with you.
  12. Lets try and join the dots together shall we? What are the chances that leaving with the customs union will get through Parliament? Seriously, tell me the odds. Based on that answer, the natural conclusion is that Labour will seek a confirmatory vote. Does this sound like a Brexit supporting party to you? It wasn't that hard was it?
  13. Surely if he was any good, he would have been a barrister, no? Also, back on topic. I don't think Boris will actually make it to the final 2. How many MPs actually will support him? The ERG might support him assuming Jacob Rees-Mogg doesn't run, so that is 70 votes. So where will the rest come from? Not all Brexit leaving MPs are as hard core as the ERG. In fact, I would say the vast majority are not. A moderate like Jeremy Hunt will most likely make it to at least the final 3. Sir Graham Brady will be a surprise to many purely from backbench support from most neutrals.
  14. To Carboot and his like that claimed there was going to be a surge in right wing nationalism across Europe. Where is it? Centre Left / Left Groups, Social Democrats, Nordic Green Left, Greens, Liberal Democrats = 360 Centre Right / Right Groups, European People’s Party, Europe of Conservatives and Reformers, Freedom and Direct Democracy, Nationalists = 350 The grouping of right wing parties are set to have a net loss of 46 seats. Whereas the left are set to lose none. Sounds like a trend away from the right to me. Is the UK really that much of an anomaly according to Carboot?
  15. If you're going to reference literature that is as old as 2017. We should have left the EU on the 29th March. Guess what happened. It is a figment of my imagination that a confirmatory vote is being constantly sounded by the Labour Party. 75% of Labour Party members are remainers. Sounds like a remain party to me. Calling the whole Tory party leavers is a bit generous on my part since 5 million Tory voters are remainers.
  16. Nice of you to neglect counting the SNP or Plaid Cymru. Making very reasonable assumptions that the Tories can be seen as Leave and Labour as remain. The number of Remain MEPs knocks the Leavers out of the park.
  17. This is the most understood thing about our democracy. In fact, the majority here don’t actually understand that our democracy is a representative one. We trust the MPs who we elect to act on our behalf in making decisions that are in our best interests. It absolutely does not say do as we say. The fact that the obvious majority don’t know what is actually in our best interests, which is the fundamental problem, it is up to the MPs to decide for us.
  18. What is to accept? You know the referendum result of 2016 is becoming less relevant as each day goes by. If the result was so important, we would have left by now.
  19. Some politicians claim a solution exists for a fluid border to materialise, but it doesn’t. There is absolutely no precedence for such a situation anywhere on the planet. There is no technology that exists that makes it possible. You are praying on the fact that you can create one during the transition period. So so why don’t you stop regurgitating politician soundbites and actually read up on the topic you try to give an opinion on. The LSE is a good place to start. Your ignorance is staggering. The backstop exists is primarily due to the Good Friday Agreement. You can’t just magic away the needs of the citizens of the Republic and Northern Ireland.
  20. The only way not to have a backstop is to have a customs union. This is what Labour want and this wasn’t even close to being achievable in the recent negotiations. This will split the Tories right down the middle. I have no idea where you get your Parliamentary arithmetic from.
  21. So explain to me why EU legislation that has been passed into our laws have been the strongest for workers' rights in a generation.
  22. It’s not a debt. Calling it as such just shows that you fundamentally do not understand how the system works. It is best described as a graduate tax. What debts do you know can ultimately be written off without paying any of it back and not affect your credit score?
  23. Wow, you're allowed to vote?
  24. Not technically true. The AV referendum result was legally binding.
