Cheap Food For Wild Foxes In The Sheffield Area
Annina replied to HotStuff669's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
We always have food out, primerally for stray cats, but have a family of foxes who help themselves. There has never been any sign of animosity between my four cats and them, indeed my cats are likely to chase them away if they(the foxes) try to monopolise the feed station. We buy large bags of chicken pieces fairly cheaply in the supermarket, but asBezzydan says,it would be even cheaper where he says. We are not trying to tame the foxes, just enjoy their company, and they are are not too reliant on us for food as the local cats have usually largely cleaned up most of it by the time the foxes arrive, and there is certainly never any left for rats, who would be very brave to come here amongst my cats. -
Help on repairing my scratches on my leather sofa

I have four cats and a leather suite, the cats have turned it into fuzz. Just cover it in big throws and learn to live with it,after all,it is probably just as comfy, and what means more,a posh house or your cats company? -

Davyboy, didn't you know that there is a black hole in every house that swallows up odd socks, along with pens, teaspoons and lighters? -
I have,it is in a sorry state though, used as a refuge for stray cats and a place for hedgehogs to hibernate.

Drive down through Ridgeway to the Bridge, turn left onto the dirt track that leads to a car park next to a pond. From then on it is Shankses pony on the footpath through the wood.

What are we going to die of if we give up smoking? Are the other smokers sick and tired of being told to give up? it is our business,so please mind yours. -
Not only did it blast out til all hours,it started at 10am the day before.

The area is East Bank Rd 'ish'. I know that they had permission because when I called 101,the people who responded went round and found out. We have had this ongoing problem since the new management was installed and I have complained to the local constabulary and the brewery, but I feel that the problem lies with whoever granted a license in the first place. You can bet your bottom dollar that they do not live anywhere near the said premises.

Twice in the last eight days I,and most people within half a mile of our local hostelry, have been kept awake by a cocophony of horribleness screamed at us until 5.30AM. Just to make sure that we heard it,the management placed their speakers outside in the carpark. Please if there are any Licencing Magistrates looking in,would you consider, when permitting all night party music ,where the pub is situated. This particular one is in a crowded housing estate where people have young children,or have to go to work the next day. I am retired now,but have COPD so have trouble breathing, and need to have my window open all year. So,I am torn between no sleep at all because of the noise,or closing my window and getting no sleep because I cannot breath. Rant over, but the plea is,I think, a valid one,and I would be interested to hear other's views.

Why is everyone obsessed with killing things? They don't do any harm to man or plant, leave them alone, they have just as much right to be here as you.

Brilliant penmanship, and observation mirrors my own,but I cannot put it into such well chosen words. Give that person a medal!!!

I am sure that I heard a Vet on TV state that these cats were a result of inbreeding. Not sure how true, but am sure that they make just as wonderful companions.

Tell the police that if nobody sorts it out then you will cure it with a lump hammer.I did this once and like magic it was sorted. Mind you, this was when I lived in Derbyshire,so may not work with Sheffield police. -

I live not far away from East Bank Rd,and the main culprits are Springs pupils. I have to de clutter my garden every day of sandwich bags, chip papers and sweet wrappers ect. Mind you, their parents are just as bad,I regularly see them leave the shop, stop outside my gate, scratch their cards and throw them over said gate. If this is the example that parents show it is no wonder the kids are a scruffy lot. Perhaps they are also the filthy lot who littered our parks during the recent sunny spell. And some folk have the gaul to demonise smokers!!!

Try washing it with a handful of washing soda in with the soap. I put some in every wash thus enablieng(sp?) me to use the coldest temperature. It is also brilliant for keeping your drains fresh, washing paintwork and a thousand other uses.
