By the way 40summat, this cat does smile a lot, she is a sweetie ,unlike another of my gang who terrorises any who dares to touch him.

Sorry,it wasn't for two cats,it was for two teeth in one cat's mouth, I had only taken her for flea infestation (frontline doesn't seem to work any more) that is another story.

I was yesterday quoted £300.00 to descale two of my cats teeth. Does anyone think that this is a tad steep, it doesn't cost this for mine doing? Don't get me wrong,I do everything to ensure their good health,but multiply this by five cats and I could go bankrupt.

My pet hate is having music imposed on me wether I want to listen or not. In my Dr's surgery you sit on plastic chairs bathed in fleurescent light and assulted with music. As you are usually feeling pretty crap to start with, you don't wish to listen to it. For heavens sake,TURN IT OFF.

I apologise for going off subject,but have been sickened by what happened to my cat. Thanks Timeh for asking,Beau is now recovering and managing to get around,and eat. I also know that Criminal psychology connects serial killers with young animal abusers,it is a great pity that the police can't nip this behaviour in the bud,but as they said 'it is ONLY a cat'??????????????????????

Perhaps it is the same slime-ball who shot one of my cats with an 8in crossbow bolt last Sunday. Guess what I would like to do to him!!!

Thank you for your replies and help. I think that Beau (the cat), is feeling a little better today,he has been in for a feed. We have cat flaps in two back doors,plus I get up at dawn to fully open the door for any stray cat that is hungry. The cat community soon learn where the mugs live,it is not unusual to find a cat that I have never seen before making use of the litter tray under the kitchen table,especially in wet weather. Thank you for the RSPCA number,I have put it in my book for future referance.

Because my cat is semi-feral we havn't been able to catch him,we managed to pull out the dart,which was lodged 5in up through his thigh. He has stopped bleeding and is in the hedge bottom,but won't let me near him. We are both long in the tooth , and also afraid to manhandle him in case we do more harm. I tried to find a number for the RSPCA but no luck.

Must add,this on Northern Ave Arbouthorne,so other cat owners beware.

One of my semi-feral cats has just limped home with a nine inch dart embedded in his thigh. Hubby has pulled it out and the cat has shot upstairs and is hiding under my bed. What kind of a despicable person would do such a cowardly thing to a lovely,inoffensive creature? I have spent months on end getting him to trust me,if he lives through this he probably wont again. The police have been informed but can't attend until tomorrow,I wonder would it be the same if it had been a child?

I don't understand why the lengthy debate on this,I just quietly tell them to 'go away' but in not so polite wording. It usually works for me,they don't expect this from a 66 yr old Grannie.
