Carbon monoxide is lighter than air.....the detector should be fitted high up. A gas detector should be low down.

Serious Accident - Rivelin Valley Road - 15/7/17
Allen replied to WOOFY's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
You obviously are not familiar with rivelin valley? The public footpath from the playground follows the river to the S-Bend. It then continues the other side of the road. Pedestrians cross the road to continue the journey. -
:hihi:

Definitely worth the money. We'd be in a sorry state without them. So you have an issue with your doctor? Talk to them about it...or find another doctor. Simples.

Did you follow the link in post #2 ? They are not for sale.......£600 a month to rent.

Yodel - Item not delivered, driver has signed in my name!
Allen replied to the_mandarin's topic in General Discussions
In their defence...... I had a parcel delivered today. I was given a tracking number to follow it's progress from the seller to the local yodel depot, was able to see it was on the van for delivery today.....and it arrived safely and on time. -

I looked at all the boxes to be unpacked that evening....left them and went to the village pub. The unpacking was done over the next week or so. -
Why do people think they are entitled to home ownership?
Allen replied to ez8004's topic in General Discussions
It's a no brainer.....buy every time. I bought a £10,000 house years ago. Over the 25 years mortgage payments I paid out approximately £30,000 for it. Lived mortgage free for a few years and then sold it for £100,000. Bought a nice little modernised house in the countryside for £60,000 and lived rent free for the last five years. I have a roof over my head, plus a nice bank balance....and property to leave to my kids. Why rent? -
13 correct and 40 seconds left. Is there a prize?

The odometer reading has nothing to do with the mot. If the odometer is faulty (often happens with digital displays)the testing station can just enter "unreadable" on the test certificate.

I agree with Angelfire, just about impossible to find anywhere. Campsite owners have a responsibility for the safety of their "guests". Alarm bells will ring as soon as a "group of lads" is mentioned. It usually means late night noise and disturbance to other campers. Add fire into the equation and it's a recipe for disaster.

He doesn't need it. When I recently bought a second hand car I insured it in advance from the day I was to pick it up. Having paid and got the paperwork I immediately taxed it online before driving home. It's simple and easy.

HSBC to shed 595 IT jobs and close branches in Sheffield
Allen replied to altus's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Instead of spending time poking fun at foxy lady perhaps someone could explain why...... Why? Why have all the jobs gone overseas. The mines have closed. The steel industry is now being sold off. Most people now drive cars manufactured overseas.. Have a look in your kitchen....most appliances will have "made in xxx" rather than the uk. And the government says we are better off staying in the EU? -

That's right...a pledge to repair faults 24 hour quicker than at present. That means it will be two weeks and six days, instead of the three weeks it took them last time I had a fault Good innit! -

Hillsborough, Firth Park, Wincobank, Wales. (Not the village...the real one).

Sorry for your predicament. Good to see you haven't lost your Yorkshire sense of humour though. Keep smiling...

That makes it ok then? As I said.....Sheffield is no longer the safe place it once was.

Yes...they all happened in Sheffield. Sad, but true...Sheffield isn't the nice place to live it once was.

Blackstock Road closed police everywhere 13/04/2016
Allen replied to JL94x4's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I've just watched that video.... Yes, well done to the guy for helping. Not so well done to the over aggressive reporters though. The guy said a number of times "that's it, I've had enough " yet they persisted in questioning him. He had already spent some hours with the police being questioned, and clearly did not need being accosted in such a way. I hope the police officer makes a full recovery. -
Very funny.... Join Angelfire on the naughty step.

I had no problem reading it. My pet hate is folks remarking on others bad spelling, or ability to write correct English. Maybe the OP is dislexic? It's just wrong to deflect the thread subject just because you can't take time to (in your own words) decipher their post.

Allen replied to Dr Afzal's topic in General Discussions
I don't see how you miss out? If you have paid full NI for the full 35 qualifying years?
