I get the same funny looks from the missis. What’s the problem with my shaking the bottle to get last droplets from the whisky bottle.

Ain’t life for living? Married at 25. Happily married for 34 years before cancer won her battle. Followed by ten years widowed and moved to the Welsh countryside. Started camping as a hobby….met a new partner. Now in our 5th year together. I don’t believe one era of my life any better than another. It’s life. We can’t change it.

Where does tha want it moving to? It’s already in general chat….and now’t to do with Sheffield.

Brilliant….having worked and paid taxes all my life…I reach retirement. No more national insurance to pay, and no tax. Just live on the small state pension. UNTIL ….some rich conservative politician decides to freeze the tax free limit at £12570. Oh and we’ll look good if we increase the pension by around 8%. We’ll give it with one hand..and take it back with t’other..

Nowt’s changed then. I was beginning to think Sheffield forum had changed for the better. Our King has cancer and the usual suspects yet again turn it into an opportunity to “have a go” at each other. Give it a rest please. Best wishes to King Charles.

I haven’t read the whole thread (intrusive adverts in the way)… But my most annoying and overused words are…..”you know “. I listen to a lot of radio/tv…and the number of interviewees responses say “you know” followed by their response. Why the “you know “…. We don’t bloody know, else we wouldn’t have asked!

Just to add (without looking for an argument) …. There are many hospitals in Wales that are in city centres. Newport has two. Hospitals such as Ystrad Mynach are close to local villages with shopping centres, yet all are free parking. I just don’t understand how it’s acceptable to pay twice. In England you are expected to pay twice. You pay taxes and national insurance just like the Welsh do. Surely that’s enough. And I won’t mention free medication again.

Isn’t the title of this thread Northern General Parking? Has it moved? When I lived there it was in a northern suburb of Sheffield. Charges for parking there has nothing to do with being central (and therefore abused) …..it’s about ripping off vulnerable people when most in need.

Not getting into politics.. Welsh NHS saved my life. Enough said…

Where did that come from? I reckon you and gaz 786 are mates. You’ve both had a little bit of a dig at my recent comments. FYI One visit to a doctor and I immediately had blood tests. Long story cut short…but within weeks I had an aneurysm repaired…kidney failure diagnosed…dialysis for 14 months…and a new kidney transplanted. Nothing but praise for the Welsh NHS from me. And the biggest praise to the family who allowed the loss of their loved one to save my life.

Since when was you made a moderator? My opinions are as valid as any other on here…unless free speech is now banned on this public forum. The police obviously have taken the matter seriously. Fights, bullying or any violence at a young age can have lasting consequences in life.

Or move to Wales. Hospital car parking is free here….as it should be. Oh….and so is prescription medication…no charge.

So that means it’s ok then? Ask a child constantly bullied at school if it’s ok. Maybe you were the bully then? I still have bad memories of school days being bullied. Now in my 70’s.

Strange the op hasn’t been back on the thread. I have every Firparnian Magazine from ‘62 to ‘67. They were borrowed by the owner of the the site owned mentioned in post two.. And no…I ain’t lending them again. Two years to return them was unacceptable. Plus I have a good idea who this cook is…apologiies if mistaken, but it ain’t Silus Cook.

Same could be said for lots of areas in Sheffield, but agree Page Hall is naff. Firth Park not far behind. Left Sheffield twelve years ago….. Miss the good old times…but move back today…no way!

Lost interest in reading this thread when it became apparent it was another argument (described as discussion) between the usual suspects. It’s time they grow up and make this a forum once again reading. Just in case anyone takes this thread seriously…yes, I’m having mine tomorrow.

Nowt unfriendly about the Welsh. That’s why I moved here 12 years ago.

Forum owners that fill their webspace with annoying adverts despite complaints from users. Not sure it qualifies as a profession though…..

He should definitely not be released…but doubt a conversation on this or other forums will make a difference. Just a thought…..would it be possible to set up a petition to prevent his release.
