This afternoon and every Sunday from now there is a new capoeira class in Hillsborough. Details are as follows: SUNDAYs 2 til 4PM 393 Youth Club and Martial Arts Academy 393 Langsett Road, Hillsborough S6 3LJ The building is situated opposite the rear entrance to Morrisons car park near to Hillsborough Interchange. Both Blue and Yellow trams run to Hillsborough tram stop from town and other areas of the city. Also Bus routes S6, S6A, 11, 12, 13, 13A, 14, 17, 20, 20A, 31, 31A, 35, 36, 37, 52, 57, 61, 62, 64 and 68 all run to the bus station. Price is £5 for adults, £4 for students and young people (12 to 17 years). You don't need to book and beginners are always welcome to any class. Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines elements of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, music and philsophy. With connections to CDO capoeira groups across the world there is regular opportunity to attend workshops and events as well as to visit and train with our friends in other cities and in different areas. If it is any interest to anybody reading this thread.... Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that has many movements similar to breakdancing. Capoeira in Sheffield has been long established under group Cordao de Ouro Sheffield or CDO Sheffield. Cordao de Ouro has been the leading group in Sheffield since 2004 and it combines aspects of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, music and culture. Many movements used by breakdancers, tricksters and Free runners are closely linked to capoeira. Cordao de ouro capoeira Sheffield welcomes any beginners who may be interested to come to visit any of our classes. We also welcome any enthusiasts of these other fantastic arts to give capoeira a try as well! Cordao de Ouro capoeira Sheffield is linked to the Sheffield University capoeira society but we run classes throughout the summer. We are part of a much wider international organisation which has links to capoeira teachers and masters throughout the UK and the wider world. We also offer development in capoeira through taking belts and attending events and workshops which are always lots of fun.
