  1. It's amazing that a few disparate posters on a provincial city community forum could see all this but the bosses at hmv couldn't !!
  2. In fairness chem, you didn't imply that - anyone on £71 won't be splashing money on fags and leccy for a leg over. Anyone who will be forking out for it will be gainfully employed. Or drug dealing. I knew a few teen mums when I was a lad, none of them were knocked up by an older bloke, although my mate does know one.
  3. Are really suggesting your theory is more plausable ? Thats a bit of claim. A sick and slightly twisted claim to back your regular anti landlord, anti home owner, 40 acre and mule argument. Id see someone if I were you.
  4. That's a pretty low post that. Have you any evidence that the majority of young single girls are preyed on by property owning nerdo wells or paedos. If it was the former they'd be forking out child support right ? I'd bet most of the fathers are equally uneducated, hoody wearing teens, stinking of lynx, teenage desperation with a bottle of white lightening hoping for a bit of hows-yer-father.
  5. If it was show I caught a snippet of the other day, can I suggest "no"?
  6. Oh and the rise and rise of asda and tesco selling CDs and games.
  7. Quite a few. Sorry to send you to the daily mail but it's first I found. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2195174/Britain-340-000-households-EVER-job.html I don't know the percentage of them that are in the overall unemployment figures but in these times of austerity why are we wasting money on people who don't want to work ? If they were unemployed 10 years ago, chances they'll be unemployed in another 10. Spend money on those who have been unemployed for more than 6 months but less than 2 years where their skills are still relevant.
  8. Who said so ? I bet, in as many words, every serving American president for the last 60 years. Torture isn't reliable or the west would do it openly. Cutting one mans hand off for guaranteed intelligence to save thousands is something I could live with but it isn't guaranteed.
  9. Plenty of people run outdoor events without council funding (indeed many need to pay a council) and make a few quid. Equally a fair few make some eye watering losses. Rock climbing event, in a city next to the peak distrct where they do rock climbing ? The bigger question should be why is it making a loss.
  10. Let them ring your landlord - I guess you pay your rent on time and haven't totalled his property and haven't had the rest of the street ring him up. Unless you are his first tennants he would have had phonecalls from these nutters from day one. He might take action on them if it persists.
  11. You've tried and it hasn't worked. But most of the problems aren't huge though are they ? The landlords getting the phonecalls about a fence that isn't broken, police getting phonecalls about disturbances that aren't there and secret meetings - who cares !! Tell the kids to ignore the harpie next door and carry on. Don't rise to them, just carry on getting on with your other neighbours as you already do. They're in their 70s they could be dead or in a home before you know it.
  12. It really depends on the product. Sales of scotch whiskey, jags and land rovers aren't going to drop - if someone really wants something (particularly those who are wealthy) it won't matter if we're in the eu or not.
  13. That's a bit unfair to use the thread title as a stick to beat someone up with who isn't entirely happy with immigration - it doesn't mean you're a bnp supporter, fascist or racist.
  14. Thanks for that. I've done a bit of the "call to action" but not much - most of it is showing my stuff in action, on site rather than in the showroom, so to speak. I'm thinking of asking clients to send their own pictures in but worried it could turn into a free for all. Do you the frighteningly low level of likes is putting people of liking it ? Nobody wants to be the first to arrive at a party !!
  15. I think the more affluent pensioner might buy themselves something nice, the rest will put it to its intended use I think.
  16. Settling on cars but not the roads in S21. Alert level moved to defcon 2.
  17. Well, in my opinion, yes. I'm not saying the Islamists in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia aren't dangerous, but they don't on the face of it seem as violent as the ones in Mali or Nigeria for that matter. Syria, probably are closer to the terrorist nutter catagory, and they are fighting nutters too. Best leave that one alone
  18. Im putting the word out to family and friends again but most of the time they just say they'll get around to it and don't. It's mainly business to business and alot of companies who I work with won't want to give their suppliers (ie me) to their clients.
  19. Could be that we're just closer to France, and France has jumped the gun a bit. As I understand it the international community was planning on getting involved in the summer and France decided it couldn't wait. Edit - I think it also be more of an EU thing as well.
  20. Hate-filled, violent rapists ? Thugs ? Criminals ?Perhaps you prefer misunderstood or freedom fighters, overly religious maybe. I'll settle for terrorist nutters.
  21. Because they are terrorist nutters ?? If you can put an argument why the Islamists who are destroying UN heritage sites, recruiting child soldiers, and quite literally raping and pillaging the country aren't terrorist nutters please share. I'm not that worried about our involvement at the moment - we have aircraft that can carry armoured vehicles, the French don't. We're the equivalent of a man and van.
  22. I agree to point. I feel, and maybe wrong, that we as a country dictated the change. I feel as though we as country are just being towed along. Don't really know who is doing the towing !
  23. Totally agree. Forget deficits for a minute, brown for a brief second, had the banks at his mercy. The free marketers needed billions and quickly. Brown gave them the billions and extracted sweet fanny Adams in reforms or anything else. Didn't have to lend, didn't have to do anything, just trouser billions. That is the worst thing that brown did by a distance.
