  2. Hi Fizz, Thank you so much for getting in touch. I look forward to seeing you on the 28th! What craft do you take part in and like doing? Sue
  3. I am a fundraising co-ordinator at the RSPCA Sheffield and we are starting a craft group. We have recently found out that our underfloor heating and boiler system will not last until the end of the year. We need to raise £10,000 to get this repaired asap to keep our animals warm. The link to our current fundraising page: https://campaign.justgiving.com/char...ffield/heating The idea of the craft group is to make items to sell and raise funds at our events throughout the year and to make blankets, baskets and toys for our much loved animals. Any craft is welcome and who knows you may even teach someone a new skill The first session will be held on the 28th February 2016. Session Fee: £3 per person Session Time: 10.00 until 14:00 Refreshments free and cake available for a small fee under 18's welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. If you are interested please message me asap!

  5. Hi Plop128, Thank you for showing an interest in the group, we are currently discussing a date for the first session. If you would like to start knitting anything for the group, I know the centre is wanting dog blankets and cat blankets. As you are an experienced knitter, I don't think I need to mention not to use mohair as this would choke the animals should they chew the blankets. Sue
  6. Knitters and Crocheters needed for Sheffield based animal charity Do you enjoy knitting? Would you like your knitting to benefit others? Would you like to meet other people once a month? Why not join the new RSPCA Sheffield knitting group? We are inviting people to come and help us make items for the animals in our care. Items that we can also sell at our fairs and in the centre shop. As well as knitting and crocheting, we will also be making beds/baskets and toys from recycled items. At the moment we are asking people to express an interest by replying to this post. The sessions will be held on a Sunday and refreshments will be provided. There will be a small charge of £2 per session to cover cost of using the centre and refreshments. Dates and times will be confirmed soon, so please watch this thread very carefully. In the meantime, the centre is needing cat blankets, dog blankets and dog jackets so feel free to dust off your needles and get clicking, ready for the first meeting. Look forward to meeting you soon.

  14. In January 2013, City Clicker Charity Knitter Group will become a reality. I am currently looking at venues and hoping to arrange 4 throughout the month. At the moment Parson Cross or Chapeltown is a possibility. There will be a monthly member fee of approx £2. This will get each member unlimited drinks including tea and coffee during the meet-up, biscuits, a monthly newsletter and will help cover the cost of the room. It will also make it easier for members of the group to hand in items that they have knitted for our projects, to save on postage costs. At times you may also be given some wool and asked to knit certain items as we may have an urgent request. I would love to hear from anyone in the local area that would be interested in this group. Getting some numbers together would definitely help me in the planning. Look forward to hearing from you.
  15. Hi, Do you have a pattern in mind? Whatever I charge you for knitting the jumper, I will donate to a charity I am fundraising for, Dreamflight. I run a knitting group, I am sure between us, we could take this project on. Look forward to hearing from you.
  16. I noticed you did not have any replies to this request. Would you be doing this next year and would you be wanting items knitted? If so, I run a knitting group that knits for charities and projects and would love to put your charity under our wing (so to speak!). We would make a variety of items cat toys, cat blankets and knitted kitties. I am sure if I do some looking I could come across some interesting things for you. Look forward to hearing from you.
  17. Hi zane, I have a baby blue set that includes a cardigan, hat and mittens. I sell and donate to charity. This set would be £5 and the whole £5 would go to Dreamflight. If you are interested, message me and I will give you details.
  18. Hi CatN, You are welcome, but thank you. I am currently looking into setting up a knitting group meeting once a month. Working on a venue at the moment. Would this be something that you could be interested in? Where you can chat with other knitters, hand in completed items, learn new techniques and build confidence & also help teach others to learn the skill of knitting.
  19. I am trying to organise a Happy New Year party for a group of children who have been to Florida for 10 days with the charity Dreamflight. I am the parent of one of these children and would love for the children to keep in touch and also to raise funds for this well deserved charity. 192 children with a range of disabilities and sever or terminal illnesses are taken for the 10 day vacation and experience all the main theme parks of Florida, swim with dolphins and meet various celebrities. Not to mention the friendships that they form during the 10 day vacation with the other children of their group. Ideally the venue we use would be a childrens playcentre that can accomodate for a variety of physical needs. To allow the children to all be involved with the fun of the day. I have also had ideas of having a couple of entertainers throughout the day, a cupcake stall, jewellery stall, raffle and prize table, registration table (for other fundraising events). We would like this to be a ticketed event (mainly for health and safety reasons), but also the ticket sales could be 100% donation to the charity. The tickets would be designed and provided by us once we have been given a number limitation figure for both children and adults. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Together can we make this Dream a reality? I am sure we can.
  20. Please use the links below for the groups. Website: http://www.cityclickercharityknittergroup.weebly.com Facebook Group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/215420901890137/ Thanks for your interest.
  21. Hi CatN Thank you for your offer of help. If you can help by knitting scarves that would be greatly appreciated as obviously these are needed as soon as possible for the winter months. Thank you
  22. Hi, This year my daughter was fortunate enough to go to Orlando, Florida with Dreamflight. Dreamflight are an amazing charity that takes 192 disabled, severly and terminally ill children to Florida for 10 days. The children get to visit all the main theme parks, swim with dolphins, meet various celebrities and form amazing friendships with other children in the same group. I want to do all that I can for this amazing charity and do something for them in return. I have had a thought of holding a Happy New Year party for the dolphin group, which is the group of children from the South Yorkshire area. Obviously as I am doing this as a fundraiser, the cost needs to be minimal if possible none existant. That would enable the fundraiser to be 100% donation to Dreamflight. Before I get over excited with the things I would like to do at the fundraiser, I first of all need a venue. An ideal one for this would be a childrens playcentre that can cater for all children, whether they be able bodied or on crutches or even in a wheelchair with very limited mobility. As long as there is a biggish ball pool, all the children can get involved. I have the idea of a cupcake stall, jewellery stall, raffle and prize table, registration table for other fundraising events and a few entertainers throughout the day. I would love this be either the first or second Saturday of 2013. If you can help and would be willing to offer your venue so this Dream can become a reality for the kids and enable us to raise as much as we can by selling tickets to family and friends and also promoting your venue, then I would love to hear from you. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. Together we can make this Dream a reality.
  23. Hi, I am putting the post in the hope to get people that are interested in knitting and helping people less fortunate than themselves. I have a list of items that are needed by various charities and projects including specially requested items. At the moment I am desperately needing gloves, mittens, hats, scarves for a Sheffield based charity that helps homeless children and teenagers. Both these groups are needing more helpers and are run by me. I am also looking at finding a venue so we can have a monthly meet and items can be brought to the meeting as opposed to posting, which will lower costs by helpers. If you want to reply to this post, I will send you a link to the website and the facebook group page. If you prefer one over the other, please let me know in your message. Thank you for your time
  24. Hi, I have recently started my own hand made jewellery business working from home. I make a spectrum of different items from basic childrens stretch bracelets to gemstone necklaces, bracelets and watch straps. Recently I have made a chakra bracelet to order and a wedding set. Along side my sales table I also run a 'Creation Station' where children can make their own bracelets to take away with them for a small fee. I am also looking at expanding this to cater for birthday parties too. If you are holding or know of any summer fairs, school fairs, car boots where these items can be sold. Please could you leave me a post with details as this would be much appreciated. Looking to fill dates from 21st July onwards (inc.)
