When I mentioned bathtubs I was referring to alcohol. Cannabis plants definitely smell, but I suppose it depends how many someone is growing and how well insulated the property is. I think the authorities often find them using thermal imaging technology, as growing them requires a lot of heat lamps.

When police used to deploy the helicopter they used to use thermal camera on houses to see which houses showed up with lots of heat in loft

Thank you for your responses............in most cases. The following occurs to me.

    1. Some solicitors will take on the case on a no win , no fee basis. I was enquiring if anyone knew a local one.

    2. The obligation to report an RTA falls upon the driver of a mechanically propelled vehicle. IF personal injury is caused. and IF the driver does not produce a certificate of insurance. I wish posters would know what they are talking about when they quote Act and Section, I did!

    3. Yes, I did get his insurance details.

    4. The witnesses made themselves scarce when they realised I didn't need medical assistance.

    5. It's not my word against his.

    6. I expect him (or his insurance) to pay me as he admitted the accident was his fault.

    7. I have photographic evidence.

    8. The driver has not reported the accident to the Police and thinks he may get 'done' for dangerous driving.

    9. In retrospect insurance with 'British Cycling' is a good idea.

The rough description of the accident is:-  The driver was waiting in a 100 yard long line of stationary vehicles at temporary 3 way traffic lights. He was by a left turn and decided to nip down the road to miss the queue. He turned left without looking, which was where I was passing vehicles on the near side. I had no time to react and a collision occurred. IMO Its 'driving without due care and attention' although there is a case for 'Dangerous driving' as he knew there was a risk and took that risk.

There are loads of Solicitors offering 'No win No, fee deals' and it reasonable that they take their cut but I am seeking an informed personal reference.

    Thank you

Do you have any sort of household etc insurance as if you do they usually allow you to contact a helpline through them

My understanding is that the M1 cameras do not have the suggested buffer that is thought to be on other networks. I believe there was a 3mph cushion when first introduced but I was advised by someone in the RAC that it was reduced to 1mph a long time ago. It’s probably why you see them flash so often as people coast past at the limit.

Some car speedos don’t read the true speed - they say 33 but you are doing 30, but this can be changed to read true in coding and most modern cars give the true speed by default now. Obviously there are tolerances on how accurate that is as well - by law a speedo van read 10% faster than you are travelling, but never lower.

There is only 1 camera between 34 and 33 in both directions. I have seen the matrix signs switch speeds from say 60mto 50 and always wondered what happens if you are going past the camera and that exact time - you would hope there is a 10 second delay or something before the sense triggers.

I suppose you’ll find out whats going on within the next 10 days…

When the speed limit is lowered there is a 59 second grace before camera becomes armed for that speed.
