I am aware there are many reasons & situations for people sleeping rough on the streets. I have spent time & talked to a few "homeless" guys, some I have genuinely wished I could have done something to help, but they get pushed back at every turn & continue to struggle through life, but unfortunately there are some that latch on to the goodness of others & take advantage. 1 guy I sat with had a dog with him (a companion in lonely times), but as I listened, I realized they were both cogs in a well oiled machine (pardon the pun) he was part of a group who had sussed how to take advantage of human generosity. 1 of them would sit on the street, with 1 of 3 dogs they owned, he explained the dogs created a deeper pity for them, due to the fact they are a dependent creature, we all know how it works. He was very open with me & told me how between him & 3 others who squatted a flat, would take it in turns to beg for cash to feed their habits & get bought food, as public felt sorry for the dog & its owner I respect his truthfulness, as he could have just given me a sob story, but he made it very clear, they were "happy" to live this lifestyle While ever there are people doing this, the streets will never be clear of the homeless. It irritates me deeply when if they struggle to look after themselves & don't know when their next meal is gonna be available, they shouldn't have another life depending on them to provide. The housing isn't the problem, it's the people that need the help, but i doubt every "problem" in society will ever be solved. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

It would help if this generation didn't spend so long on gadgets & gained face to face social skills! I know I'm currently being a hypocrite quoting on a www forum, but it's true!!

Hi there! So sorry to cause the confusion! We are still considering the move but at present we are still based in Castle Market! Unfortunately both my fella & I have been ill recently so the shutters have been down most mornings. Depending on how long it is since you came to see us last, we were based on the lower ground floor, but have moved to the next floor up & are situated on the middle floor around by the Waingate entrance, next to "Xtreme Mobiles". Cheers everyone! We did think about Hillsborough, but with the new development at that end of the city centre (The Moor) the London road location appears to have more potential. That of cause is my own opinion, which is why its nice to find out views of the general public & potential customers! We are currently based in Castle Market & although there are guaranteed "shoppers" in the building, they are usually the same regular folk that call in for their same regular visit (cuppa or meat & veg) so we don't tend to get a massive amount of passing trade. We gain a lot of custom from our website! As for the parking, the shop unit has a free space of it's own around the back of the shop also pay & display spaces along the road leading up to the shop. (plus Aldi has a large car park directly behind the shop if customers are willing to buy a can of pop or chocolate bar!) There is also loads of bus routes that run passed the end of London Road.
