  1. I've used Apple van hire which are based at Bradway, always found them to be the most reasonable van hire company out there.
  2. I highly recommend Dougies Meats which has various vans around Sheffield (Job Lot on Barnsley Road, Noah's ark pub & Jordanthorpe). Excellent value and quality plus I believe they do a delivery service. I would never buy meat from a supermarket ever again.
  3. I would really recommend James Mace at JPM financial, he sorted me out with a mortgage and everything else what goes with it. It didn't cost me a penny as he works on commision and he looked at whichever company was offering me the best deal rather than the one which he was going to get most money out of. A very friendly and approachable bloke who doesn't mind going that extra mile to help you out - and no I'm not a relative or work for him! ring him on 01709 910001
  4. My daughter goes to Border View Farm at Bradway/Dronfield Woodhouse and it costs £13 for 30 mins. She loves it as they also let her muck out and groom the horses for as long as she wants.
  5. I cannot recommend the Dore Grill highly enough as Jose and Delores are fantastic hosts who welcome everyone from the youngest to the oldest. The only thing i would say is that i would get there early as parking is quite restricted especially on a saturday evening or sunday dinner time.
  6. I've used Feline tattoo studio before and have been very impressed by their work especially Fiona who owns it, check her portfolio out on their website as I'm sure she does good animal portraits but she is pricey. If you want to travel a little further afield I've also used New Era tattoo in Dronfield, the lad there called Crip is very very good and to be fair cheaper than Feline.
  7. Judging from peoples reactions the worst areas outweigh the nicer areas by some considerable amount giving the impression that Sheffield isnt a particually nice place to live.
  8. We used safenet alarms which are a local company, the cost of the alarm system totally depended on which spec we went for, I eventually chose the hybrid system which is a mixture of wired and wireless sensors and it cost me no more than £500. Nice friendly company and cleaned up after the job. http://www.safenetalarms.co.uk/
  9. I too looked at moving to Clifton very recently but after driving round and asking other people who live in Rotherham what it was like I decided against it. Locationwise its very handy for the town centre and there is a nice park there BUT it's also very near to less desirable areas such as Eastwood and East Dene. I think it would be a fair comment that the area classes itself as been ethnically diverse.
  10. As someone who works within the food industry especially peanuts I can certainly confirm that salt and vinegar peanuts are alive and kicking however I would advise paying for a branded product rather than a supermarkets own even though they are made in the same place but with slightly altered flavourings and salt content.
  11. Having lived in Dronfield and Dronfield Woodhouse for the majority of my life I'd say I know it very well. The nicest areas are in Dronfield Woodhouse and certain areas of Hilltop near the golf course. Places to avoid are around snape hill road and opposite Gunstones, I'm not say they're rough areas but just not as desirable to live. My kids go to Fanshawe (now The Dronfield School) and as a parent and an ex pupil im very impressed with what they have done there. Socialising wise its got some good pubs but also some very mediocre ones, quite a few indian restaurants and a good but pricey Italian. One of my big gripes about Dronfield is that in the winter the roads are shocking and rarely gritted or snow ploughed.
  12. Having never been to Medlock before until a few months ago I was actually surprised how nice it is and seemingly quiet. The only issue i've found with it is the parking on there is quite bad but apart from that its not a bad area.
  13. I used to work for Lafarge, the people who manufacture the concrete, and it was my job to test the concrete on various sites etc.... As long as the concrete is of a suitable standard, properly mixed, all the relavent additives and not too watered down then there isnt an issue with the product. However the problem tends to arise with the cowboys laying the concrete and believe me there are loads of them about. Personally I used MASTERPRINT for my own drive and have seen plenty of their work.
  14. I had a tattoo done at Mr Personality about 3 years ago and to be honest it was a waste of time and money, since then I've used Feline which were excellent although there is a fair old waiting list and New Era in Dronfield which i was really sceptical about but i was really impressed by the lad and his tattoing skills.
  15. Toby Foster had a feature on his radio show about a month ago, the old caretaker was on it and I'm sure he said there was a happy ending. As for M Khan been bent I cannot possibly comment!
