  1. She said it was on a big field that was on a slope/hill and was huge.

Tansley, it can be a good car boot. Like any other there's normally quite a few traders.

According to Hillsborough Arena website. Unless there is torrential rain tonight, then tomorrow's car boot (10th July) is ON.

  2. Spoken to someone who is a trader at Hope this morning. Tomorrows car boot has been cancelled.

My mother in law mentioned one we went to a few years ago. Passed Roseley? Passed bakewell? (Not sure if the word was roseley?)

Rowsley, if it's passed there it will be Tansley. If it's at Rowsley, that is where Bakewell car boot is held when the show ground is being used for something else.

  3. It would be very helpful if we could have an early indication on Saturday whether Thorpe Hesley and Hillsborough Sports Area carboots will be taking place. The weather for Sunday looks OK according to the weather forecast tonight.

Sorry for typo - meant to say Hillsborough Sports Arena!

Hillsborough is cancelled due to water logged pitch

  4. Can you recommend a good Sheffield Venue to hire for a Charity Craft/Gifts Event? Could be for a one-off event or on a monthly/quarterly basis. Please all have a think and let me know your thoughts. I've made a list, but would really appreciate some input from people in different areas of the City and different age groups.

Could be indoors/outdoors, with room for plenty a stalls/tables and free parking in the vicinity. It could be evenings, or weekends. I'm expect to pay, so please don't think I'm trying to cadge a freebee!

Also, if you are a local crafter or sell unusual gifts, would you be interested in showing off your wares/talents?

    Thinking caps on please!:)

Hi I am a florist, I sell flowers, plants and shabby chic gifts for your home and garden. I would be interested in having a stall. Thanks Nicola.

  5. Been told that the boot at Chesterfield Proact Stadium, will definitely go ahead with a low turnout from sellers. Can anyone confirm this??? Really like this boot, really don't like waiting for hours only to be told the boot's off:mad:

It was on yesterday, would say between 20-30 traders (if that). Didn't get there until around 9.30 and it was still busy with buyers. Hope this helps.

  6. Evening All , just wondering with the weather being so bad ...although forcast for tomorrow is good . Will Thorpe Hesley still be on as ive known it to be cancelled when weve had heavy rain due to the field /pitch been waterlogged . Do hope not as ive got car loaded and ready to go .

If anyone local or Frank is on could you please let me know.

I live on the same road the signs are still out, but it is torrential rain here at the minute, it's not looking good ?

  7. Just wondered if carboot at Thorpe Hesley CC was better attended this morning, taking weather into account?

Yes, it was busy, would easy say between 80-100 stalls. With some great bargains to be had. The rain wasn't really that bad, got there around 6.45, there was a sharp shower that didn't even last 5 minutes and that was it.

  8. couldn't agree more marsh lane 1 of worst car boots going and people are voting with there feet and not going .what car boot charges for young children to buy? they do. once marsh lane had 300-400 sellers a few years back until they got greedy not it takes 5mins to look around. as for new York car boot that could be very successful if the people running it had a clue, £2 to park,£10 to stand is too much for a new car boot they need to get it going by free parking and fiver to stand then it would rival keepmoat and chesterfield car boot. heard a lot of complaints about it

Went to New York Car Boot, total waste of time. They are charging too much to stand and to park. One of the stall holders was telling the others about Thorpe Hesley Car Boot, which is on next weekend so to be honest think the one in Rotherham next week will be even worse. Everyone there was complaining, about the costs.

  9. Hi, does anyone have any feedback on our first carboot of the year on Sunday at Thorpe Hesley and High Green CC?

    Thanks

    Frank

Not as many sellers as normal, think the forecast put them off. Hopefully this Sunday's will be better.
