  1. The "backward step" started when:
  2. Maybe, just maybe, they're crappily managed? Liverpool council may have squandered up to £100m of public money https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/mar/25/liverpool-council-may-have-squandered-up-to-100m-public-money
  3. Maybe Starmer wants to revive Cameron's "Hug a Hoodie"
  4. Wish I'd rented a dry barn somewhere and kept all those old £50 Minis I used to buy .
  5. 6. Brace yourself for the "very sorry", "lessons will be learned" rubbish.
  7. What about Corbyn's betrayal of Centrists who supported Labour from the mid 90s to 2010? "Blairites" they called us. "You're not wanted now we have record members supporting Jeremy" they said.
  8. Its certainly badly managed. Last week my OH had a routine minor op with stitches. Whilst on site she was able to book a follow up appointment in a month's time to talk about it and where her treatment will go next. But she couldn't make an appointment on site for the following week to have the stitches removed. "Ring us to make an appointment" they said So, day after day she rings - no appointments (even though the department is hardly rushed - we were there 2 hours and nobody came into the 20 seat waiting room). After day 5 they said "you'll have to go to your nearest walk in centre". So she had to sit for 4 hours amongst other sick people coughing away.
  9. I noticed that - they love to belitte people - especially their financial figures if they don't know their last 5 years accounts in their head. There was a guy on last week who made some little pod homes. HIs gross profit was something like £80k and net profit £56. He was trying to explain where the difference went - on maintenance of the existing pods and building new ones, but Meaden just shouted him down with "that's capital expenditure, not profit and loss". So much for being business savvy! Dragons' Den flop slammed by Deborah Meaden is now a household name worth millions https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/celebs-tv/dragons-den-flop-slammed-deborah-8238724
  10. David Lammy doesn't like being reminded about this when there's another stabbing in London. David Lammy MP says absent fathers 'key cause of knife crime' https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-19815831
  11. This one always makes me laugh. A couple of years ago a Batley teacher and his family was hounded out of his job and their home and forced to go into hiding because of death threats - all for showing his RE class an image of Mohammed. The "community leader" who spearheaded the hate campaign? Yep, you guessed it: Batley: Yusuf Sacha jailed for 12 child sex offences https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-64809515
  12. Today Labour have been having a dig at Sunak for using private jets. Once again, slinging mud without any thought for being hypocrites: Keir Starmer used Qatar-funded private jet for Emir trip https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67952479 Climate crisis: Sir Keir Starmer condemned by environmental activists for flying to Edinburgh https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/news/climate-keir-starmer-labour-flight-b1833733.html Not to mention Blair Force One when Blair was PM. Lets see how many trains over jets Starmer takes when PM.
  13. All these tinpot counties, chucking missiles at each other - you know what they all have in common - they won't drink alcohol or eat pork. No wonder they're so angry all the time, being denied bacon because someone wrote it down in a book centuries ago they blindly follow .
  14. I'm going to say, like Yes Minister, the department is really run by civil servants who have their own policies, and the minster is nothing more than a figurehead.
  15. If only it were that simple. I've no qualms with a Labour government and Starmer at the helm. Its some of his shadow cabinet I despise for their hypocrisy and double standards. Wes Streeting on health who seems to completely overlook the failings of NHS in Wales managed by Labour. And thinks teachers are going to start cleaning kids' teeth. Rachel Reeves, shadow chancellor - who likes to put her accountants fees on expenses, can't even manage her work credit card, and for some reason had half a MILLION pounds in recent donations (makes you wonder what favours all these donors will want when Labour have the power to grant them.....) Angela "Tories are Scum" Rayner - who's excuse for her uncouth mouth is because she's working class and doesn't know any better. Lisa Nandy - blocks green belt building in her area, but is now all for green belt building. Also loves migrants, just not in her constituency when they're sexually harassing schoolgirls. Ed Miliband - hates anything to do with coal mining and will block anything new, but just a few years ago was having a go at the Tories for not keeping Hatfield colliery open.
  16. Sunday morning I switched on the TV and Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg was on. I wasn't watching the screen, but heard someone saying they thought the military strikes in Yemen were the right thing to do and in the UK we need to stop the boats of migrants. I looked up, expecting to see a Tory MP, but it was Starmer!
  17. Any coders on here? This is pretty shocking https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fthis-is-a-real-code-review-submitted-to-the-public-enquiry-v0-q5851pj522cc1.png%3Fs%3Ddb189b183464056777be2943c23e146f9bb268ad
  18. Shame Labour didn't have any alternatives to them back in 2010 then Darling concedes cuts could be tougher than 1980s http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8587877.stm Alistair Darling: we will cut deeper than Margaret Thatcher https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2010/mar/25/alistair-darling-cut-deeper-margaret-thatcher
  19. Not very often there's anything positive to say about a Conservative MP, but fair play to Nadhim Zahawi playing himself in the ITV Post Office drama., Tory MP Nadhim Zahawi plays himself in Post Office scandal TV drama https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67873197
  20. On the plus side its got the Lib Dems into the news. Are they a lost cause these days?
  21. He's only doing the same as Gordon Brown did back in 08/09, clinging onto the bitter end in order to get a few more % points.

  23. Hmmm, pot-kettle? Gambling Firms Prey on the Working Class. Why is Labour Taking Their Money? https://novaramedia.com/2023/01/26/gambling-firms-prey-on-the-working-class-why-is-labour-taking-their-money/
  24. Not good. I don't understand why Labour don't want to be open and honest about such things. But, as always I guess there's 3 sides to the story. But, its just like this: Labour MP says opposition frontbencher still in post despite being reported to police for alleged sexual assault https://news.sky.com/story/labour-mp-says-opposition-frontbencher-still-in-post-despite-being-reported-to-police-for-alleged-sexual-assault-12895013 And this: Labour Party supplier ransomware attack: Who holds ex-members' data and on what legal basis? https://www.theregister.com/2021/11/05/labour_party_ransomware_data_breach_questions/ It will be interesting to see what they cover up when they're in power. If they're going to throw stones at the Tories for sleaze, cover ups and dodgy donors, they really need to stand outside their greenhouse while they're doing it.
