  1. I think you will find that the national parks are not untouched, but are managed to keep them as they are now. And as was said in the article they want to put them on the edge. They are already putting them in the sea and they look great there too but i think you will find that the maintenance costs for these ones are huge and the life span cut. Sorry but I think the turbines are an excellent way to make power, and yes they do need to get up to the 10% green power agreement and a lot more IMO.
  2. T020's only objection to these is that they want to build them near his house or near Hathersage where as a student he is hoping to buy a house, and he thinks it will affect the value of it. He seems perfectly happy for them to be put elsewhere. So it all comes down to money for him not the clean power factor. You are moaning on again same as you do everytime people don't agree with you. Why you think everyone is replying and disagreeing is to have a go at you - which planet do you live on. Lala land
  3. A lady i used to work with at the childrens lives down there, and used to tell us about the visitor she used to get. She would be busy doing things and turn around and an old lady would be there. She did find out that she was an escapee from Middlewood and had to ring up for someone to come and collect her. After a while she started locking the door as the lady was quite disturbing and it was becoming a regular occurance.
  4. Sorry but i agree with Brain Thrust i like them. I have stayed in many places in the country,Cornwall and Wales, where there are wind turbines and i don't have a problem with them. They are not noisy, unsightly or pour out pollution. This has to be the way forward. There are some in the sea in the Humber and they look good.
  5. The Crosspool Tavern at Crosspool will have bonfire, fireworks and food. This is usually good. They light the fire at 6.30pm and the fireworks from 7ish. I do believe there is also one at the Holly Bush pub in Rivelin with fire, fireworks and bbq.
  6. Me and Nomme both play, but he obviouly was not saying that.
  7. Yes i always buy at least one and wear it on my coat. They are there to raise money to help those still living after war, and as a show of rememberance for those who have lost there lives in war, and not just the world wars. There are people who will have lost relatives recently in Iraq who will be very happy to see how many people remember the people that give there lives for our country.
  8. now mmm which to choose? Always have fish and chips when i go home to Grimsby. And Mikey, Steels in Cleethorpes, ain't that a bit posh. Ernie Becketts across the road is where we always went but my grans friend worked in there and so did i when i was still at school. Curry always go out with the girls for curry and there r some fairly good ones up in Crookes and around and so much choice. So sorry guys think it may have to be the curry. But fish and chips is nice for a change, with mushy peas, and yes the Broomhill friery is best, as said in other chippy thread.
  9. Oh forgot maltesers, and minsterels. And marshmallows the pink and white ones.
  10. John my first real James Bond. See you at the meet.
  11. Sorry but maybe missing the point but I prefer to got to town on a Sunday. It is quiter, there is parking and it is free. Less oldies as they go in the week, and dogs and pushchairs don't seem as bad as there are less of them. There was a farmers market on the Moor this Sunday which made it busier, but i would like it if this took off as more of the shops would possibly open. I can't stand Meadowhell it is far too busy, usually end off sneaking to the cinema in there to get away from the chaos for a bit maybe i'm just not a born shopper, which can only be good.
  12. What if they disappeared into the ground whilst you were in it? Sorry but wouldn't risk it, same as the automatic door thingy ones. They will only charge loads to use them anyway.
  13. My journey was non-existent as i am off with all the scrotes. Yippee:D
  14. I went to Havelock school in Grimsby. I loved school and was house captain for Gloucester house. Goody goody. I left in 1987 after 1 Year in the 6th form. We did have a reunion earlier this year and it was great to see people again. And now work in school, cannot keep away, but it is not the same.
  15. Onions. Used to always pick them out of anything my mum made, but now love them, even raw.
  16. Having done the british passport one try this see if you could be James Bond. http://www.secretservicetest.co.uk
  17. Yep me too only got 3 but i have just renewed mine so i'm alright for now.
  18. Mmmmm chocolate, voted for galaxy as it is very nice, and make excellent chocolate crispies. But also like turkish delights, fry chocolate the many flavors one which i can't find any more, ripples, crunchies, chocolate orange and many others. Also like the new diary milk range with the mint crisp bits in. I don't like nuts, raisans or conconut so anything with theses in are out for me. Why can you not get texans any more? They were really nice and a real favourite.
  19. Mmm too many to choose from, I may change these later, but for now, Joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat Blood brothers The sound of music
  20. Can't stand Sara Cox, really annoying woman, and she caused me to swap channels, and Chris Moyles isn't much better. Sorry radio 1 but i've gone over to radio 2 and find it much better. Terry in the morning is v funny and he plays some good music. Maybe i'm just getting old.
  21. Watched all games so far and we are doing well. I am well happy. think we might have a chance. And yes there will be lots of new fans especially if they keep wearing the nice new shirts they have. Definatly well happy.
  22. Can't think of five right now but Annie Lennox has to be one of them. Will have a think about this and come back to it
  23. At present metalic silver green thing. Will be changing to a dark blue though in march when my dad says he will give me his volvo when he buys a newer one, that is if i can find a decent quote for insuring it. But if it was up to me and I could choose it would be a two tone (like from the eightys, i had a coat with this type of lining) purple jag. Now that would be unusual!
  24. Sorry but i am a sobber at almost any film. It is making me well up even at the mention of some of these films. I am the one that always comes out red eyed and sniffly. Nomme and Fletch find it quite amusing. Definetly cried at The Green Mile, Ghost (was going through most of this), and K Pax think i may have even cried at the Sound of Music on some occasions, think this says it all.
  25. No you won't be going Fletch as this film is an 18 certificate, so you will not be allowed in. And your mum says NO.
