  1. It's definitely a generation thing. There's a term which describes a thin skinned younger generation that can't cope with conflicting views, let alone criticism & believe it to be their right to speak without consequence. Narcissistic, over sensitive, entitled types who can't deal with, & take offence with anyone disagreeing with them, & also believe it to be their right to be protected from anything they might find unpalatable. Generation Snowflake, delicate little flowers.
  2. I'm not too familiar with Birley Carr but I'd agree with everything said about Hillsborough so far. I moved here about 4 years ago & I've never looked back. Houses do tend to sell quite quickly & there are some bargains about at the moment. Everything is on the doorstep, excellent transport links & a lovely park. Good luck with your search!
  3. Brilliant, well written article... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/lliana-bird/charlie-hebdo_b_6461030.html?utm_hp_ref=uk
  4. Goodness me...I've just woken up & there's a pack of wolves at the door! This delusional nutter is clearly no better than any delusional nutter who spouts hatred in the name of their religion, but has this particular 'lone wolf' homophobic nutter committed any atrocities or just spoken about them? I'll keep my eye on the news for the next few days shall I? God forbid, should anything happen I'm sure you'll be the first to let me know. As they say, religion is the root of all evil & I have no time for it in whatever form it comes in. Worship your god in peace & live and let live. ---------- Post added 24-12-2014 at 08:28 ---------- Stalk your posts? Seriously? One doesn't have to delve, or stray too far from threads like these to see a pattern.
  5. Recap yourself. Go back a few posts. Is there any other religion in today's society that promotes death on an unprecedented scale? Discounting the hate preaching homophobe that you'd pulled out of the net & had on standby of course.
  6. I'm pretty sure that's not what he said. My interpretation was that the hate preaching Christians weren't so prevalent in today's society as the hate preaching Islamists.
  7. No, let's just label anyone racist who doesn't share his viewpoint shall we? It's a lot easier.
  8. He's quite clearly not new to the forum judging by the amount of posts, however I've just noticed him on this thread as a lot of what he says seems to make sense. So yes, he's my new favourite poster.
  9. He's making perfect sense to me. In fact, I'd go as far as to say he's my new favourite poster!
  10. The 'lone wolf' tag may fit the PC agenda but with the current international terrorism threat level having recently been raised to Severe, it's obviously been raised for a reason. The threat comes principally from Al Qaida and related networks; and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). I don't doubt that the media have a big part to play in public perception with regards to the recent atrocities in the world, many of which are committed in the name of religion. I do have faith in our intelligence services though, & like to think they have access to slightly more information than the PC brigade would have us believe in order to substantiate the above.
  11. Whatever his flag represents, he committed a horrifying act in the name of his religion. May he rot in hell.
  12. I watched the first part the other night & am just about to start the second. Brilliant & compelling drama, & all the more so as most of us will remember the drama unfolding. I remember being glued to Sky News & hoping against hope that Joanna would be found safe & well, & how utterly tragic it must have been for her poor family. Christopher is brilliantly portrayed & the acting is superb. I can't wait to watch the next 2 instalments. From what I've seen so far, I hope he wins his case. If you've not already done so, it's definitely worth watching.
