On new years eve we lost my wonderful mother in law val plester who for 7 mths as been fighting a cruel brain tumour and followed by a massive stroke . She was a very popular lady around woodseat and in her younger years at winn gardens and stradbrook she did kids partys in the cross sythes and the big tree on woodseats during the 90s . She paased away in st lukes hospice which is a amazing place who treated her with the compassion and dignity she deserved weve set up a tribute page on the st lukes website for any small donations for this wonderful place see link below . i was there with my brother in the late 70s early 80s i was only young but it was a spooky place and i remember the caretaker next door had some dulux dogs it was great in the winter as we could never get to school lol

my father in law yesterday received a knock on the door by a so called builder saying that is chimney was unsafe so with him suffering from dementia he said how much and the qoute was £300 , he said im a pensioner and he couldnt afford it so they said £150 he replyed he only had £80 so they said that was fine got the ladders out put a bit of cement on the flashings and left , ive reported it to the police and as they,ve actually done some work not much can be done there coming to take some details and i will name them if its found there dodgy as all numbers are dead on the card they left but just thought i would let people know to be aware ,BE SAFE

i did 3 years on the carp lake doing nights every week and one of the best and safest places ive ever fished very secluded and martin and keith do a cracking job

i class my self as a experienced carp angler and would never hold a fish (not just a carp) with straight arms i like my elbows bent with my fingers further round the body so if it flips i can pull my arms towards my body also if you hold a fish touching your clothing its the same effect as wrapping it in a towel it removes vital slime of the fish
