  1. Surely must be a Portishead albulm on its way. Although have said that for last 4 years on the trot...... Jim:thumbsup:
  2. Same as. Just seen up to end of round 6, now back at my work. Just worry about Calz dropping his guard. It only takes one punch... Best fight I've seen for a long time, simply because our guy is winning!!!! Jim:thumbsup:
  3. Who do you think will be on the plane this summer barring injury? I've got 17/18 definates but then struggling to perm 5 from around 20. I've also had to include David James (saddens me to do so!) Here's my 23. ( What ever happened to the 22 as in "Ron's 22) GK; Robinson, James, Green (Would love to pick someone else other than James and not too keen on Green either) Defenders: Neville, Campbell, Terry, Cole, Ferdinand, Carragher, Young, King (That's Gary Neville, not his uglier useless twin!) Midfield: Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, SWP, Cole,Carrick, Downing, Jenas Forwards: Owen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe I would have loved to pick Vassell as he always does well for England, but just not prominent at the moment. The starting 11 picks itself at the moment, but I'd have SWP in from the off, and I still don't think we are sorted when we have Lampard/Gerrard together. My start 11 would be; Robinson Neville Cole Terry Campbell SWP Lampard King Cole Rooney Owen Jim:thumbsup:
  4. Thanks for that. Tend to find when you go to the big field ones, such as Marsh Lane, you always stand around for a few quid. They are usually just busy of people browsing and not buying and there's also that bit more to choose from. Blonk Street- you could sell anything and everything but its just manic for that first 1/2 hour and overall a pretty desperate and depressing experience. (Too many dodgy dealers selling pirate dvd's and knock off gear!) Heard good things about Barnsley and my end of Sheff, hence the query. Jim:thumbsup:
  5. I know its just outside the borders of Sheffield, but generally interested in how you got on if you did do a boot there? How much was it to pitch? How was trade? What time to be there? Is it any good in general? Its got to be better than the scrummage at Blonk Street in Sheff! Cheers Jim:thumbsup: (200 posts and counting!!!!!)
  6. Best Guiness I ever had was funnily enough in Dublin. However, after 36 hours solid on the stuff, we had to resort to putting a Jameson's and blackcurrant into the pints to revive the tastebuds! (Big jessie's I know!!!!) Jim:thumbsup:
  7. My vote goes to No.1 Buffet as well. They are really friendly and dead helpful with the kids, fetching high chairs, replacement forks etc etc. Food there is plentiful and very very tasty! Especially the salt'n'pepper ribs...ddddddddddrrrrrrrrrooooooolllllllll. IMO Jumbo is terrible. The food is ok, granted, but you can't get near it as there are too many tables in there for the space. When you ask them if you can sit upstairs, you just get Ring No Reply on their vacant expression's! Jim:thumbsup:
  8. The best news I've had today! Its the chavest, mankiest rat hole in town. Everytime I've been forced in there, its turned out to be the worst pub on the route. Just something about the place that really gets my goat up! There, glad I got it off my chest. Jim:rant:
  9. D & P by a country mile. Can't really see the smoking ban taking off there, can anyone else..... Jim:thumbsup:
  10. What's the most common Owl in Britain? Jim
  11. Could it be Big Bird from Sesame Street? Or Robin Day Or Chris Eagles Or Sir Christopher Wren Or Ozzy Owl Or Budgie the helicopter Or (falls asleep whilst pondering the numerous bird names and trying to work Kookaburra into the equation......) Jim:thumbsup:
  12. Aldi, Lidl, Netto - all Scandanavian for s**t! :hihi: The old ones are the oldest......sorry, best. (Yes I know Lidl is German) Jim:thumbsup:
  13. What, I do work in IT! Holy s**t!. I really am clueless! Jim:help:
  14. coops, its because I'm completely clueless.Good job I don't work in IT. jim
  15. 24th of what? guess that means March? jim:thumbsup:
  16. Gloryifing what is considered the most pointless trpohy in the domestic season... sorry just slightly ahead of the LDV. Come on, you must have better things to do with your time. How about taking up croquet now the weather's turning. Jim:thumbsup:
  17. The cups are coming home at our house! Had some stuff in storage including the best china tea service. Its such a relief to have them home once again.......... Jim:thumbsup: PS What a stuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidddddddddddddd thread!
  18. Ryan When is the game then? I thought it was the 24th which I couldn't make, is there a new date then? Cheers Jim:thumbsup: PS If its this Friday, I still can't play as I'm at work again
  19. Is anyone interested in stickers of students to slap on their car doors once they've taken one of the blighters out, a bit like they used too on the old spitfires during the war!!!!!!! Might see if I can knock some up and race up and down Broomhill and Eccy Road. Jim:thumbsup:
  20. What, turn up or the sister give birth.... Or Both Jim:thumbsup: ( Hope they are both ok though)
  21. Yes, you can whats yours... and normally there's no way for anyone to get money from them without you knowing (ie Direct Debits) Jim:thumbsup:
  22. Hook I'm just old fashioned any way. I'm off to the Halifax to open a savings account for my daughter just because they still do accounts with books where you can see how much you've got! Jim:thumbsup:
  23. Hook Rather than quote you, I'll respond here. Fair does, you do make some pretty valid points. My main point was that all banks have there good points and bad points, be it one branch to the next. If you were to try another branch of HSBC perhaps you'd find better customer service, rather than the info monkeys at Uni branch. Sadly thats the way British banking is going, with the notable exception of Nat West. However, having once banked with NW, I won't be going back to them. Its all a matter of personal taste and experience. Jim
  24. How does this transpose itself to be the fault of HSBC? I've never had any problems with them. If you put Yorkshire or Barclays or any other bank on you would inevitably end up with some form of whining complaint on the thread. Jim
