  1. That would be Deal, No Deal. The reason Saturday night telly is garbage is to encourage people onto the Forum:hihi: Jim:thumbsup:
  2. The next step will surely be like in Australia where they have drive in off licences..... Jim:thumbsup:
  3. "If jesus died on the cross....and then rose again.......how did he die the second time?" Jesus died on Parson Cross....... well I never. Jim:thumbsup:
  4. Angelus Don't know if it is still there, but there used to be a travel agents opposite the Forum in town which specialised in long haul. My first two trips to Canada were booked through them. They might be able to help you out on a one to one basis, rather than Thomson. Cheers jim:thumbsup:
  5. When are you going Beamer? Be interested to see your review on the place. Jim:thumbsup:
  6. Is it really that bad? I'm toying with the idea of a visit with the family towards October, but this is putting me right off. Any one been to Port Ventura place???? Jim:thumbsup:
  7. The last decent sporting activity there then. Jim:thumbsup:
  8. Nice one! If you are doing Toronto and Niagara you will have a great time. Toronto is a very relaxed place, and the people are really friendly. Musts are the CN tower and Sky Dome. If you have chance, and even if Mrs Ang isn't a sports fan, try to take in a baseball game at Skydome. The atmosphere is absolutely crazy. There's a hotel which is built into the stadium and overlooks the field. (They once caught a couple in their marital nuptules on camera, so be careful!!!!) When I was there last, there was a carnival on at the old baseball stadium which is called the exhibition stadium (Ithink from memory). Pretty cool and worth checking out. There's a lot of good bars and its pretty bohemian. Look out for the Don Valley Freeway! (Try a Labatts 63 beer, avoid the Labatts Blue (Headache gear)) At Niagara go for the Maid of the Mist. Its the boat trip which takes you right into to the heart of the Horseshoe falls. It is unbelievable. You can also get Helicopter filghts over the falls but I didn't go for this as it was a tad expensive and I was on a really tight budget. There's also a tour which takes you into the cliffs so that you are behind the falls. Niagara is certainly worth the visit, but it is also a little bit like Blackpool as its really aimed at the tourists. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  9. A little out of town I know, but what about Whitley Hall Hotel. Jim
  10. I think I can comment with a bit of experience here. My wife spent 8 weeks in total in Jessops for the birth of our daughter in early Jan of this year. It depends very much on which ward you are on, what time of the week it is and in general whether the midwives in attendance can be arsed. The cleaners/auxillaries change wards on request of where they are needed. We found the usual weekday cleaner was excellent, and did a really thorough job, whereas the weekend cleaner thought she ran the whole of Jessops and was in and out within 10 nano seconds. There is hand wash situated everywhere on the wards, and its well signed as well. We didn't have any bad experience of poor hygene in this sense, and made concious effort ourselves as well, especially with our 4 year old. At the end of the day, you need to pull people up about this if you think they aren't doing the right thing. Jim
  11. I left in 85 and these names bring back happy memories. McKenzie now/was working for a funeral directors as a driver. Tanser, top man. He wouldn't know one day from the next but certainly was the spit of cat weazel. I seem to remember he had a ginger afro!!!!! Was the female PE teacher Miss Coy by the way? Others I can remember being Mrs Stolton (History) she completely lost her marbles, Mr Ward (IT sort of bloke), Mr Turner (Tech Drawing) Mr Lipka (PE). CJ Fuller was convicted for taking pictures of young children, not for having pictures, although I would regard them as one and the same. InternetOwl - would you have been in Bob Bloomers year then, as I played football with him for the Old Harrow. Jim
  12. Robbie, Bit too short notice for me I'm afraid. Jim
  13. Yippee for Postman. ......and for postmen in general. they do a sterling job. Postman. Post some possible dates.times and places, man. Jim
  14. I always thought Leeds fans were pretty slick! 1. Its Sheffield 2. Its "I'll" or "I will". I pity your old English teacher. Anyway, I though Leeds was just a service station for the M1:suspect: Jim:thumbsup:
  15. Completely forgot about about Scott Parker. Agree with you, he should be in instead of Jenas. As for Green and James, you will really struggle to find any other English keepers who are world class. Lets hope that Robinson doesn't get injured itherwise I think we are shafted. (Still like to see Cudicini with a British passport under residency, I'd have him) Jim:thumbsup:
  16. And after all that in true Little Britain style, Ron turns to his mate and says; "I don't like em....!" Jim:thumbsup:
  17. I know the Neville's aren't twins, its called satire. Agree with you on Martyn, but injured at present. Woodgate worries me a lot. Fine player, but never fit. LHS side cover at full back would be Young and Carragher, both played there before. Jim:thumbsup:
  18. and another thing...... Midfield players destined for Manure. Certainly not Ballack or Gattuso. Ballack will be at Real or Chelsea next year. He's in a very good team at present in an average league, and will be looking to progress next year, so with Chelsea going for 3 titles on the trot, they'd look a good bet, especially if Lampard is off. Gattuso, absolutely pants when at Rangers! Scots league absolutely pants, but nearest paced to our game, and he looked average at best in that. Yes he's a very good holding midfielder in Italy in the slower paced game, but he's not in the same league as Makalele/Essien. Manure missed out on Davids who would have done them a job. Best Manure can hope for is someone comes to light during the world cup, say Appiah from Ghana, currently at Fenerbache. Looked quality when at Juve but forced out to make room for Viera. Alternatively, some young lads from France/Spain, in the vein of Fabregas. Don't know if this will be the course Ferguson takes, as recent signings Evra and Vidic hardly strike you as world class players Personally I'd like to see Manure stick with the following in Midfield; Fletcher (Crap) , Miller (bring back off loan and crap), Richardson (never been an England player and crap IMO) and Slim Ronaldo (prone to emotional tantrums and good for a laugh). You can see the trophys flying back home then! Jim:thumbsup:
  19. My boy, only just 4 has been going here for a month. Its a real trek for us as we at Burncross, but well worth the time and money so far. Its a really good set up IMO, with the emphasis on discipline and organisation rather than combat skills. I think this is a good thing at his age. When he's that bit older, say 6/7 he will know himself if its something he wants to continue with and to a higher standard. So overall, its pretty good and one of the few places we could find who offer something to the 4+ age. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  20. Bit more up to date, from circa mid 80's but Cabana chocolate bar. Had cherries and coconut in them and they were brilliant. Don't know what happenend to them:huh: Jim
  21. Currently residing in Sunny Burncross. Best bits; Acorn pub, near the countryside, close on for work Worst Bits; noisy neighbours! Taxi fares home from town after a few bevvies Jim:thumbsup:
  22. I'd head up to somewhere such as Whitby for the night, then head back in to say York/Harrogate way. That would take up two good nights. Alternatively, get on the train and have 2 cracking nights in Edinburgh. (I know a brilliant Guest House - 4 thistle Scottish Tourist Board rated). Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  23. Its taken me the best part of an hour to read this thread, which has provided me with some of the best laughs I've had since the 1991 Rumbelow's Final. (Les Sealey's madness- pure comedy!) Angelus - Have you ever been to a match? Honestly, you can tell us. Was it your local Sunday morning league game, even little lads in the park with jumpers for goalposts. That level of the game is the mostly likely scenario I can imagine to match your knowledge of the game! Its common knowledge that Perez intervened at Real on aquisition of players and team selection. Del Bosque wanted to keep "his" team together and hence was put into an untenable position which is why he went. The Galaticos are a commercial success, warranted, but a true measure of success in football is by what you have won. As Madrid are trophy less since 2003, I would see this as a failure. Does your knowledge of world football extend further than Madrid? Whenever I read one of your Manure threads, I'm always left with an overall feeling/impression that its just not very fair on Manure. The whole world is against them, when in fact they should automatically be awarded every trophy each season, have free reign of every player and generally people should be a lot nicer to them! Five world class strikers in no particular order- Shevchenko (he would walk into any team in the world IMO) Henry (would walk into any team in the world IMO) Eto'o (would walk into any team in the Premiership) Torres (youth on his side and would walk into any team in the Premiership) I will give you Rooney. The thing with all the 5 above is that they have passion and in my view commitment, and that's something you can't say for the "Fat Ronaldo". Honestly, he'd be a cracking signing for Manure. It would take them 6 months to realise how pants he is and he's nothing more than a big Jessie. By that stage, Chelsea will have the title in the bag for the 3rd year running! Agent ****, Guderian - you two have my sincere best wishes in your continued battle with this rose tinted Moron in an armchair!!! Jim:thumbsup: PS Angelus, I look forward to your repost as I could do with a good laugh as I'm on nights this weekend.
