  1. Nobodies mentioned Soap yet or the Muppets. Classics! Cliff you might be right about the age thing as I am a big fan of Cheers, but its been off air for years, but now thankfully having a good run on Paramount. Cliff and Norm, one of the great comedy double acts. Jim:thumbsup:
  2. At least you've saved on the honeymoon costs to the states and Canada. (If it was me, I'd still jet off and get wed while your out there!) Chin up Does the Arse reaching the final count as no.3? Jim:thumbsup:
  3. Zebra You can get different varieties of clematis which climb and don't flower too much. You could also try a Passion plant which do flower, but for some reason don't seem to attract winged beasties. (I've not seen too many round ours anyway). As for the grass type things, have you considered either a. Various types of herbs which tend to take off were ever you plant them, or b. garden heathers which tend to survive in any conditions. I'm no expert but do listen to my local garden centre person. (Burncross Nurseries). Its only a smallish place, but lots of varieties and free information from the owners who are really friendly. Don't know where you are located but certainly worth a visit. If you need directions let me know. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  4. HSBC had a lot to do with Saville House as a storage facility, but I think they've finished in there so it could be ripe for knock down/redevelopment Jim:thumbsup:
  5. 1st choice would have to be Edinburgh. I know a brilliant B & B if you need details of one. Been 3/4 times and had a brilliant time on each occasion. If you just want a night out on the razz not too far away.... Liverpool. Hard to believe I know, but we had a cracking night. Jim:thumbsup:
  6. Just get yourself knicked and have an obliging policeman sign it for you...... Jim:thumbsup:
  7. Surely it should be Sir Cliff wired to the National Grid........ :hihi: Jim:thumbsup:
  8. Ice skates or roller blades and go with the flow Jim:thumbsup:
  9. Rach My wife had it first time round. I don't think its something you "get" it just creeps up on you. She was doing really well until around 2/3 months in and then all of a sudden everything seemed to be a real challenge and she was constantly tired. She didn't have any obvious symptoms to me, but generally didn't have any get up and go. She would be up/down all the time. I tried my best to talk to her and get everything out in the open about how she was feeling. We didn't have an over sympathetic health visitor at the time, but her GP was great. She had a short stint of anti-dep's and has been fine since. Hope this helps. Jim:thumbsup:
  10. Where's the wedding at? Jim:thumbsup:
  11. I was always told that; "Don't look at the mantle place, while you're poking the fire!" Personally its a fine combination of both. My wife is stunningly beautiful and has a cracking figure. Others may think differently but thats how she is to me and thats whats important. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. Jim:thumbsup:
  12. Parcher We kept the carpet running from the stairs along the hallway upto each door frame and then put door plates in as required. If its carpet to carpet you just need a flat door plate, but for anything else ie; carpet to laminate or carpet to tile, then a h shape door plate is probably the best solution. Do you have access to Look Local free paper, its North Sheff based. There are ad's in there for Laminate floor layers. If you are stuck let me know and Ill try and source a number for you. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  13. In no particular order; Blues Brothers Slap Shot 1941 Jean De Florette and Manon Des Source The Usual Suspects Shawshank Redemption Saving Private Ryan Schindlers List Forest Gump Monsters Inc Jim:thumbsup:
  14. Have to go for the one where they attempt to navigate the North route of some high street. Golden Gordon from Ripping Yarns (Python related) Killer Rabbit from Holy Grail Jim:thumbsup:
  15. Can I interest anyone in SurfinJim's stock of ex army personnel carriers. Or how about this to put the sh*t up the little bast*rds. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRITISH-ARMY-SPECIAL-AIR-SERVICE-SAS-VEHICLE-FLAG_W0QQitemZ6621193105QQcategoryZ112471QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Jim:thumbsup: Surfinjim:-maiming chavs since "96"
  16. Ive got a double edged door plate with carpet into one side, and laminate from the other side. Its like an elongated H shape. I think it came from Glyn Webbs at Wadsley Bridge and makes the job look really tidy. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  17. All and sundry Trying to trace the whereabouts of an old mate, Michael Maher. He is from Norton area originally, but moved to Kimberley in Nottingham approx 10 years ago. He married a local Notts girl called Louise. I lost touch with around 5 years ago, and not heard from him since. He went by the following nicknames; Sav, Mad Mick, Kavos Mick. The number I had for him doesnt answer anymore, and there svery little info on Friends Reunited. Any help appreciated Cheers Jim:thumbsup: Mods-Dont know if this is in the right section or not.
  18. Is it an all day thing or just a reception invite? If its an all dayer, then wait outside the church ready to dash in when you see the bride arrive. By milling about you might get to see who it is getting spliced, and if you don't know, just go out on the razz in your best gear! Jim:thumbsup: PS Play it safe with some vouchers as a gift for a shop you'd use. Surfinjim;- crashing weddings since I don't know when!!!!!!
  19. Who was the manager when the blades went down to the old 4th division? Was it Harry Haslam???? Anyway, he'd get my vote. Jim:thumbsup:
  20. The loan company ad where the bloke is tossing (oooeeerrr) the football about with his missus filming him on a camcorder. We do that all the time in the real world. It would be funnier if he juggled the ball, dropped it, but in trying to catch it, nudged her, in such fashion that the camcorder jammed into her face causing copius amounts of blood and pain. Queue claims direct ad. Jim:thumbsup: Fave ad of recent had to be Honda Impossible Dream ad all the way through.
  21. Always found Maine Road to be pretty tasty. I'd give the Old Den the thumbs for brown trouser time, together with Upton Park circa 1991/2 ish. Most intimidating though would have to be Ibrox for Old Firm game when Mo Johnson had just signed for the Ger's. Both sets of fans clamouring to rip his and anyone else's head off. Rangers had a firm at the time who used to go around in butcher's coats! Also witnessed the Vodka injected into half time orange as well. Suprisingly very refreshing:hihi: Always used to travel in exceptionally fast running shoes just in case!!!!! Jim:thumbsup:
  22. The whole match will be made up of individual matches, and these are referred too as "rubbers". In the Davis cup, I think you get 4 singles matches, and a doubles match, making 5 rubbers in all. I think that's how it works. Jim:thumbsup: Don't know why they are called rubbers though.
