  1. What you have to do is take a digital photo of what you have to sell, upload them when you are prompted to do so, then buyers know you have it! Da-nar! YOu do need to watch out for photos nabbed from commercial websites (like a photo of Chanel perfume copied from Chanel's website) which could indicate the seller didn't really have it (either that or they don't have a digital camera!) and most people's photos are quite amateur-ish in that you can see their floorboards or the cracks in their paintwork. I once saw a pic of the back of someone's beautiful wedding dress, taken in the kitchen with piles of dirty dishes on the surfaces and a mahoussive heap of dirty washing in the corner. I was nearly sick. It is hugely based on trust and the feedback mechanism which tells people how trustworthy sellers and buyers are. Its great. I'm selling all my stuff on there as we are emirating. Money keeps coming in. It does take up a lot of time as you need to accurately describe your items so as not to misrepresent, but you do get some nice surprises in terms of high bidders sometimes. I'm going to join in the chant "I love eBay!"
  2. Yup, for sure, and am still trying to establish who/what I was, not that it occupies my mind on a daily basis, nor does it keep me awake at night. I feel that I am learning and have learned lessons from previous lives and sometimes am able to spout knowledge with no idea where I learned it. The key for me is to be aware and open to it at all times.
  3. You can't stay over there, but Whirlow Brook Hall is just beautiful. And the food is exquisite. And they can do organic for you. And you can take your own wine. And that's all for now.
  4. Hi Faloola, yes, they congregate under the trees and at the cafe in Endcliffe Park, it's all very nice and convivial. Cafe is nice and cheap and the snacks are good. Somebody mentioned Link, it's well worth getting a copy if you can. You can pick them up all over the palce, I just can't think of a specific spot other than the Oasis cafe on Abbeydale road, inside Caterknowle Church. And spooky, I nearly called my son Mylo... but he caught Felix instead.
  5. I 'appen to live in Oyland 'cos I found a nice big 'ouse for not much dosh. Sold a flat in London, ker-ching and bought outright. Luverly. Four bed, two bath, big garden, lots o' space. 'Appen. I have previously lived in Paris (8 yrs), London (10 yrs) and a bit of everywhere for a year whilst travelling, so yes I am not your typical 'Oyland. They tend to stick to the same street round here, moving up to three and four times in a life time.
  6. Woah, steady on! According to the philosophy of Rudolph steiner, it would appear that we have 12 senses, that include things that we fully take for granted like balance, temperature, ego. Want me to go on?
  7. We feel the same way you do and are off to Australia end of next year. I could write a size page rant about this country but will spare you the eyestrain. Trust your instinct and go where you feel is right for you. I also lived in France for 8 yrs and it shaped me in a way I could never have imagined or could have been here in Sheff. Never regret what you do, regret what you don't do.
  8. Congratulations on becoming a mother; it really is the ride of your life! How are you doing? There are a bunch of mothers who meet in Endcliffe Park mostly on Fridays but other days too. I think they are mostly from the NCT groups but am sure they'd "let you in" if you have the requisite passport, ie a BABY" The brain mush thing goes on and on, mine only really lifted when Andorra was 18 months old, although a difference was noticed around 1 year. But it's so that you don't shift your priorities to things that are not related to your baby, nature is very clever. Baby needs every single brain cell you have got for at least the first three years. I am part of a breastfeeding support group (La Leche League) so if you wanted to talk about BF'ing I'm here for you.
  9. Yes, NLP is excellent, and not just for depression. It really helped me with emotional issues around my caesarian section with Felix. Also, Omega 3,6,9 oils are good for anything brain related, you can get ready blended ones in lots of places (even Tesco do some). Clear Spring do a blend that you can use on salads with dressing but must not be heated as the heat denatures their properties. On a more humorous note, in reply to Funky Dave, a dead libido does not make a pleasant compagnon! A long early morning run should help.
  10. PS. Fluoxetine kills your libido. Amongst other things.
  11. I always find it helpful to go outside, especially when it's sunny, but also when not, and reconnect with the earth. Spend some time in a wood or forest, walk through and just look at what is around you, not to appreciate it as such, but to just "be" there with it. Walking bearfoot on the grass is very helpful, you'd be surprised how much these simple suggestions do actually work. Bach flower remedies are helpful with this type of illness, White Chestnut if it's a gloomy depression, but there is heaps of advice around about which ones to use for which ever state of mind. Eating raw food can help, which means fruit and veg in their natural state (not like raw meat or uncooked pasta!), and sprouted grains are full of happy stuff. Avocados are the ultimate happy food as they contain everything we need to function properly. Evidently I have no idea of our chum's diet but eliminating all processed/junk/dead food is always helpful. Something incredibly simple too, is to count five different blessings in your day each night before you go to bed, and feel thankful. Simple abundance is a marvellous thing. Will write again if I think of anything else. I've had help with this myself so can empathise.
  12. Yes, I completely take your point about the older kids with colds. WTF is right (LOL)! A few herbs, bit of lemon honey and hot water and off you go. Sheesh.
  13. Robbie wrote" If you have time off that should be able to count against you" (Sorry I don't know how to do that insert thing) If you are skiving then of course, but I cannot think of any better reason to stay home from work than to bring up children. Babies and toddlers up until the age of 3 NEED their mothers with them, not nursery workers, baby sitters or childcarers, however gorgeous they may be, as many of them are, and full of love and good experience, but they are not the mother. I have just done a course in York about the care of children up to three years old and believe me, the rightful place of the child is with the mother. We learned about the effects on the young child of not being with the mother and believe me there are plenty of delinquents and dysfunctional people around who either know or don't know that this is a result of their needs not being properly met when they were in a key developmental stage. We have a baby sitter we use sometimes for various occasions, though not frequently and the children LOVE her to pieces. She is gorgeous, lively, fun and she makes them laugh the whole and she's a blonde babe (!!!) but when I am here, right next to her, but doing something, they want ME not her. Mothers are bringing up the next generation, whichever that generation may be and if they are not allowed to do their job properly, the effects will be far reaching.
  14. I don't know about guests but can we have cheese fondue please?
  15. There is another way to produce genius children and that is to breastfeed as long as your children want to.
  16. And just how do those who discriminate/agree with discrimination against preganant women think that the human race is going to survive? Hello? You were all inutero one day, remember? I can't believe this is even an issue...
  17. Arnold Schwarzenegger George Clooney Harlem Globetrotters Some famous French people you'll probs not know, (Jean Paul Goude, Etienne Daho, and others) The lovely lady who played Georgia in Brookside (sat next to her at a wedding) Am friends with Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx
  18. I like Dutch speaking English, is der way dat dey can't seem to say deir th's and squash deir 's's. Is that the plural of s?
  19. Once you've had a bite of ulcerated chicken or chewed on a piece of manky cow's eyelid from the mechanically recovered meat (see Jamie Oliver's last programme for a grahic demonstration) you'll never go to these toxic top up places again. Low vibration, low everything, and just plain ... low. And don't get me started on the politics of these places (no, really don't, I'm going to bed).
  20. One of my mates got me to wax his back once. I'm not sure I ever recovered. And when I worked as a beautician in Paris (previous life), this old Polish lady came in for the whole lot off. you have no idea how resilient grey pu*es are. I am still looking for the right therapist. Used to know a portuguese lady with hair on her shoulders and, in between her Br**sts! I just like natural. I don't remove hair from anywhere. I's a earth chile'.
  21. Yup, we are in the process of emigrating at present and it all seems pretty straightforward. There is a list of Australia's most wanted jobs, and if you or yr man's job is on there u can get in quicker. Call Martin Beveridge at the Immigration Visa Bureau on 020 7384 2840 for a chat. He does the late shift and is in til 11pm. He is a kiwi and is very helpful. he used to work in IT so will be a good place to start. My bro and sil moved ther last Setp and really really don't wan to come back. they got jobs there within 3weeks We travelled there for 6 months on 99/2000 and we cannot waitto get bak there. Going to buy some land (so much cheaper) and build our own place out of wood, try doing that over here, you'd have to have won the lotto and you'd never get insurance. People are much much much more laid back, dead cool nothing's a poblem and there is soooooooooooooo much beach. Do it and let us know how you get on.
  22. My daughter is called Andorra. (pre-Beckhams I might ad). Worked in an ad agency in Paris and the CEO's chauffeur was called Jesus. (Spanish, obviously). Took a bit of getting used to. Knew a child in Paris called Prune. Oops. Also knew a bloke in France named after a lake in Italy called Come. Wouldn't work in English would it? Got some Swedish friends who just had a baby called Ludwig, which I think is way cool only again, you'd think a British baby with that name was just weird. Or would you? There is a trend in the US for brand names, Chanel, Armani, etc. Sad as you like. Am sure there's more.
  23. We are dead green, we do as much as is humanly possible without knitting our own lentil flapjacks for the winter. In fact, I have made a job of it, being an ethical consultant. I help people who want to go green, and are ready to start to make the changes they need to make to have less of an impact on the planet. It's amazing when people realise how easy it can be, how much cheaper it often is and how many nasty corporations are out there. You do find that there are limits to which people are prepared to go, some are happy to just recycle, as every little counts, and it's better than not recycling, and others want to fully immerse themselves in it, via boycotts, cotton nappies, the whole gamut.
  24. Thanks for your message, just re-read it properly and we are in Hoyland which is North north north, just south or f Barnsley so yes intersted, but not relevant. We are just applying to emigrate so were dreaming...
