Some old friends where involved with Elmsdale operatic society many years ago Stan was make up and Dorothy was in the box office. They used to take one of the local girls each evening to see behind the scenes. I have happy memories of that time probably over 60 years ago.

Some friends go out to Hope Valley college and do very well.

thanks to the 60's music I can sing along with the music on 'gold'! I was in love with my boyfriend at the time and all The Beatles! I don't have a fave record of that time all the music was great.

I have a friend who is police officer with 28 years service. DONT for a moment they are happy with the situation....... they are not. I Asked him why so many police cars are in the car park at Woodseats, quiet simply there are no officers to drive them. One time he told me the area they cover from there is out as far as Fox House and part of London road think of the areas from a to b. On that occasion there only 6 officers to cover, he said GOOD job there wasn't a major incident. He is now based (on medical grounds) on 101 where so many calls are the stupid Facebook name calling he sai she said. If these stupid people kept of it there would be More officers with better things to do. I have every respect for the police always have always will

Two friends recently lived close to neighbour who had recently died. After family had cleared the properties, the council moved in and stripped EVERYTHING including a 3 month old carpet, cooker lovely light fittings, even a garden hut why? Where do they take them why aren't they left for new tenants? I f they don't like them they should be able to dispose of the. I have a friend who has spent thousands on her flat ie a fitted kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, boiler even windows! The flat wasn't earmarked for refurburb at that time and it was in a disgusting state, she was in a position she had to take it. When anything happens to her (she is 85) it would be a palace for another tenant, who possibly wouldn't be able to afford to put back WHAT this draft council take out, often high quality goods. Any SF give me a clue?

I don't mind being called love or duck. What I DO object too is people presuming to call me by my Christian name. I will tell you when you can call me by my first name not before. I have told many about it particularly when enquiring about something over the phone , 'kids' who are probably young enough to be my grandchildren. They call it being friendly. I don't, it's disrespectful. Before I retired, I worked in a professional office, and would never have considered to call clients by their name name unless invited to do so.

I have a glass candlearbra and one of the 'arms' has sheared off. Do any forummers know of anyone who would be able to repair it or tell me of a product I could buy to maybe have a go at repairing it myself? It appears to be a fairly clean break. Thanks in advance for any help.

Speaking of Sheffield council.......... a friend of mine has is in the process of moving house. She had pit laminate flooring in her present home, and has now been told she has to take up the living room covering but can leave the rest of it!!!! Where is the sense in that? I don't understand the logic, it was all in very good condition and would have been a t least a starter for the next tenant. Another elderly friend has paid for everything in her flat.. Fully fitted, kitchen. bedroom , and bedroom even down to new windows and boiler!! When anything happens to her will this idiot council drag it all out , and if so why?
