  1. Springfield vets have 2 exotic vets, they are based at the Moorgate road, Rotherham surgery, Lizzy or Will. Hope you sort out your critters. x
  2. Did you want a tabby or a tortie? As initially you requested a tortie, and then in later posts a tabby. i really hope you find what you are looking for, there are certainly many in rescue desperate for new homes. Please don't get hung up on colours, as you will never replace your loved ones that have passed, but you can certainly honour their lives by giving 2 new ones a lovely life to look forward to. Best of luck with your search.
  3. I am sorry, I can't recommend a vet in S60, but if you are willing/able to travel, Peak Vets in S8 8QS, is highly recommended by me. They also do their own out of hours on call service, so you know all your pets history is there for them to refer back to, unlike having to use Vets Now, which won't have your personal pets info. Hope this helps. xx
  4. No, samssong, the rescue centre you adopted from should have sent off your details, if he was a private rescue, that is down to you to change it, if you have the chip number, phone petlog, who will advise you,I believe it is around £15.
  5. The law states, any animal 'under the care of man' MUST be checked on once in a 24 hour period.
  6. I send my oster ones to diamond edge, always had good service from them, http://diamondedgeltd.com/acatalog/Scissors_sharpening_service_and_clipper_blade_sharpening_service.html
  7. I collected the cat from Lowedges Road, he wasn't neutered or chipped, and approx 18 months old. he didn't look like Arther at all. xx
  8. I collected the injured cat, he is not remotely fluffy though, very handsome but he is shorthaired, approx 18 months old, and indeed he is at the RSPCA in Sheffield. xx

  10. RSPB will not attend..... http://www.rspb.org.uk/makeahomeforwildlife/advice/helpingbirds/health/injuredbirds.aspx
  11. Hi Moonbird, In all honesty, I can't remember the exact price, as it was over 10 years ago, however I do remember it being significantly more than just having the booster done!! Seems so unfair, doesn't it, but couldn't risk just having the vaccine, without weighing up the options. xxx
  12. I am totally aware regarding the 'to vaccinate or not' debate, however, I am also aware of how horrific watching a dog losing their life battle after contracting distemper and parvo is, ( not from my own dogs, but via working in rescue), which is why, in the past if I have had a dog become ill after vaccinations, , the following year I opted for a blood test to see if their immunity was adequate enough or not, and then come to a decision based on that, wether to vaccinate that year. There is also the homeopathic route, which I cannot comment on, as I have never gone down that path. I sincerely hope your dog gets what they need, and you and the vet of your choice agree, without you feeling 'done' in some way. At the end of the day, money talks and if you are not happy with a vets decision/course of treatment, you can always go elsewhere, i still stand by the vets I suggested, I have never felt they have asked for anything more than what has been needed, in my opinion, and I know other forumers that will echo my opinion. Good luck with your little one.
  13. I would continue to use the vets you already do/have been doing for the last 8 years, I presume your dog has been getting vaccinated each year? If you haven't been doing this, as all responsible pet owners would do, I would be surprised as you put, having family that are an 'international championship judge and coming from a family of breeders', as most people would? Perhaps you are just not happy with your current vet, in which case I personally would recommend, Peak vets, which are based at 36 Olivert Road, S8 8QS, 0114 2507733.
