  1. my sister cleaned there for a few years ,come christmas they were very generouse to her .she enjoyed working for them ,i think she worked there till they moved .
  2. Jack and Dolly Pearson Elm Terrace,made sandwiches for steel works on bradfield rd and Swan mortons a good old fashion corner shop .Also Chapels tobacconist on bradfield rd ,a lovely couple .
  3. COD liver oil an malt ,when we we children our mam used to take us to the clinic in Hillsbrough park to get our supply ,can still taste the oil .Also when i became a mum she would buy (i think they called it Scotts emulsion) for my boys ,poor things .
  4. re owlerton green ,do you remember pearsons on elm terrace ,made sandwichesfor steel works on Bradfield rd and swanmortons ,sold everthing .we used to play in bradfield rd flats ,going up and down on the lift .
  5. Hi Texas i think the unity was at the top of Woodstreet on Infirmary rd ,i worked in the sweet shop near the cinema for a time ,

  7. Yes i believe it was my Dads aunt ,one day when we were really young itook my sister and a friend out for the day and we called at your grans ,of course my mum and dad had know idea were we had got to .we were sent to bed with no supper .
  8. Not sure if my memory is true but i think someone called Chuck and his wife lived there at one time ,they moved to the bottom of Bradfield rd .
  9. Fred Nags a blast from the past ,he had a studio /shop on Langestt rd across from the Hillsbrough swimming baths he took our wedding photos in 1962 .
  10. I lived down bradfield rd as a young girl so the other side of the river was our play ground ,my sister and Ann bilbrough were friends .Nice to see a few of the old names .
